1967 GMC K-25 Pickup Truck~All new first year of the "Action Line" Body style for GM trucks~Only year of GM truck to have a small rear window~True California truck built in Fremont, CA~Original Protect-O-Plate from F.B Hart GMC in Sacramento,CA~Strong 350cid 4v V8 with SM420 4 speed transmission~Original SP60 Dana 60 rear end with 4:56 gears ~Original Heavy duty Rockwell 221 transfer case ~Original Camper special with mirrors, bumpers and tiedowns Up for a NO Reserve auction is a beautiful 1967 GMC K-25 3/4 ton pickup truck. 1967 was the first year for the all new classic redesigned “Action Line” bodystyle. This truck is a true California survivor still retaining most of the original blue paint it had when it left the General Motors factory assembly line in Fremont, California more than half a century ago. This truck was a special order from F.B. Hart Co. GMC truck dealership on Richard Blvd in Sacramento, CA approximately 107 miles northeast of Fremont. This GMC has spent the last 53 years on a ranch in the Sierra Nevada foothills. The truck comes with all the original owners manuals and warranty manuals including it’s Protect O Plate (POP), a medal data plate included on the final page of the original warranty booklet that was used to emboss claims through GM’s Addressograph device at the dealership. This is a true California Survivor that would be very difficult to duplicate as they are only original once…This truck was originally ordered with the HD GMC 305 V6 truck engine. In the mid 70s the V6 motor was pulled and replaced with a Chevy 350cid v8. The original owner loved his truck and felt the drive line was perfect but from early on never liked the GMC v6 nor did he like any of the newer trucks that were available at that time. The original Muncie SM420 4 speed transmission is a real truck transmission, the SM is for Synchro-Mesh which features the lowest compound gear of all the common transmissions of the era, at 7.05:1 and is a popular choice for those wanting a very low crawling gear. The SM420 features a power-take-off (PTO) port on the driver’s side of the case. The SM420 is a fully synchronized in the second through fourth gears. All gears are helically cut except first and reverse, which are spur gears. The truck has the original Rockwell 221 Transfer case and the Heavy-duty Dana 60 SP60 rear end with 4:56 gears, along with the original HD Dana 44 front axle.READY FOR ACTION Dubbed the “Action Line” General Motors began to add comfort and convenience items to the second-generation C/K Series trucks. The added comfort and convenience features to what had previously been for work purposes alone. 1967 was the first year for a new line of work trucks that had CLEAN-CUT GOOD LOOKSA simple body side with strong shoulders that taper toward the rear, a more integrated fender and hood, and a simple grille low angle hood front. “GMC” Letters Embossed in grill with no top rail on grill and a clean side with no side markers are hallmarks of this clean and iconic designThis was the first year for the all new iconic body style with the low angle hood front and unique to 1967 a one year only small standard rear window. The one big visual difference between 1967-1972 GMC and Chevrolet pickup trucks was the grill. GM must have decided they got the GMC grill right the first time because, unlike the 1967-1972 Chevy ½ ton pickup trucks, which radically changed grill design every two years, the GMC kept the same basic look of the grill for all 6 model years, with only subtle changes. Also, all 1967 through 1972 GMC models had dual headlights and parking lights mounted in the grill.Vin # KM2590DZCDZ3211K= 4wd Conventional CabM= V62= 3/4 Ton 59= 127' Wheelbase OD= Wideside Z= Fremont C= 1967Cosmetically this truck is a survivor. For a 53 year old truck it is in good shape. The truck has never been into a body shop, nothing has been repaired there's no hidden bondo what you see is what you get. The body is pretty straight, yes there are dents and dings as expected from a 53 year old 4x4 truck. The paint is original with a nice 53 year old patina. It is trendy now-a-days to have a "Patina" look and folks go the extra effort painting on reds and blacks to emulate a look that this truck currently has from 53 years of life in the mild climate of California. 67-72 Chevys and GMCs are notorious to rust in common areas like the floors, the rockers and the rain gutters. This truck has no rotted holes that so many of these typically do.Step inside of this truck, the interior has been refreshed but still retains much of the originality. Being that its a 67 and still early in the production the inside of the cabs of GM trucks were all painted a beige color never matched the exterior colors no matter what color the exterior was. What is also interesting the only color coordination was with the exterior was the seat belts and steering wheel and column. The truck still has the orignal steering wheel which is also only specific to 1967 as later years had a different style. The original beige seat has been reupholstered and looks great. A new carpet was installed as well and has no rips or tears. The gauges and dash are all original and are functional except the gas gauge. The shift knob was replaced many years ago with a handle bar knob from a Shwinn Stingray bicycle, on a side note at first it looks like a weird angle but when your driving the truck it feels perfect. An optional gun rack was included by the dealer in 1967 and is still present. All of the original 4x4 stickers as well as the Warn lockout stickers are present. As mentioned early there is no rust anywhere in the rockers.Mechanically this truck runs fantastic. Aforementioned the original V6 was replaced with a period 350 V8 and a Holly 4 barrel. The motor has always been religiously maintained and runs awesome. The motor has been rebuilt with a mild cam, and an aluminum Edelbrock performance intake were added. The truck is a strong runner and shifts smooth into all gears. All of the lights are functional as well as the horn.
