I am thinning down my collection of nice original cars and am offering for sale my 1963 Chevrolet Impala 2 door hardtop Sport Coupe. I am third owner. Car was originally from Southern Virginia near North Carolina border. Second owner was a car collector from upstate NY, bought it about 10 or so years ago, only using it during summer months to go to shows and cruise-ins. I spend summers in mountains of upstate NY, and rest of year in South Carolina. Car is still registered to me at my NY address, and has transferrable paperwork from there. I own car personally free and clear with no liens. Car is currently at my South Carolina home. This Impala is still all stock with original matching 283/2bbl V8, Powerglide automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, AM radio, and 73,000 actual miles! Car still has original body panels, floors, etc., and is nice and clean, in and out. It is not rusted or dented. Underneath is also nice and clean original. Chrome and exterior brightwork and trim is all nice, clean, and bright. Car has had one repaint in original black color 26-27 years ago. Finish is still bright and shiny, looks very good! Original black interior looks great! Seats, carpets, door panels, headliner, etc. are neat and clean, not ripped, torn, or soiled. Car runs and drives great! The original engine was recently freshened up, tuned, and very nicely detailed. Transmission had some leaks and was removed and rebuilt at approximately 65,000 miles. Alternator, shocks, exhaust, brakes, battery, belts, and hoses have also all been recently replaced. Whitewall radial tires have less than 1000 miles on them since replaced. I recently drove this Impala a couple weeks ago on a 3 hour trip at interstate speeds with no issues. There was no smoke, leakage, or oil consumption. Ran nice and cool, and I got 20MPG on 89 octane mid-grade gas. Car rides and drives nice, smooth, and tight. Everything works, except the clock, which works when it feels like it. I have been driving it a lot on nice days and would not be afraid to drive anywhere! If someone GAVE you a "project car" for free, you could not turn it into this quality for the price you can buy this "turn key" car for. Remember, they are only original once! It is really hard to find one of these early 1960's Impalas in nice, stock "Survivor" condition that has not been chopped up or heavily modified. The only 2 deviations from all stock that I have noticed are as follows: 1. Car originally had single exhaust. It now has dual exhaust, but is stock dual exhaust like would have been originally equipped from GM if ordered new that way. 2. Second owner had black carpeting installed in trunk years ago, as a sound deadener instead of just bare painted metal as came from factory. Nice, neat job. Trunk pan is clean and dry underneath. Still has stock 3-piece rubber trunk mats in place in trunk. Car is located at my home about 15 minutes from the junction of I-20 and I-95 in Florence, SC, so would be very easy for your transporter to pick car up if you are not coming in person. I have collected and fooled with vintage cars for over 40 years. I favor nice, original, stock cars from late 1950's to 1970's. It is now time to reluctantly thin down some of my collection. Please feel free to call me at 704-661-1326 for further information. IMPORTANT: PHONE CALLS ONLY, NO TEXTS!!!! I don't know how to text, and my phone will not accept them. Again, call 704-661-1326 . NO TEXTS!!!ABOUT ME: I have collected and fooled with old cars for over 40 years. I favor original un-restored Survivor cars that have been well maintained. I will sometimes sell one out of my collection to make room for new acquisitions. You just can't beat nice original cars! Call me with any questions at:704-661-1326 IMPORTANT: CALLS ONLY, NO TEXTS!!! NOT SET UP FOR TEXT MESSAGES!!I am in and out a lot, so call and leave word if no answer. Thanks!NOW FOR THE RULES:1. A $500.00 NON REFUNDABLE partial payment is due immediately on purchase with Buy it Now. This is to be made by Pay Pal. Balance is to be paid within 7 days. Bank to bank wire transfer is preferred. Pay Pal is NOT acceptable for payment of balance.2. Your bid is a contract! If you buy, you are expected to pay! Please make sure your money is in place, all questions are answered, and all decision makers consulted BEFORE you bid! Full payment is due within 7 days of purchase.3. Car and ownership paperwork will not leave here until car is paid in full with cleared funds at my bank or cash. Please remember that due to increased fraud with official checks and money orders, banks now hold the deposit up for as many as 10 business days. Best way to pay is by bank to bank wire transfer, it protects both buyer and seller. This is what I prefer.4. Car is sold strictly AS/IS, NO WARRANTY at my premises. Transportation/shipping is buyer's responsibility. I will help you any reasonable way I can, but it is still your responsibility. 5. Car can remain here for a reasonable amount of time while you are arranging transportation or pickup, but still must be paid in full within the 7 days. Also, once you buy, you need to insure the car, as I cannot be responsible for acts of God or damage beyond my control. 6. International buyers are welcome, but must pay with wire transfer, and again, must be paid with cleared funds before car and ownership paperwork will be released to your shipper.7. Please remember, this is NOT a new car. It is a well maintained used car that is 57 years old. As such, there are some flaws that are consistent with this (minor nicks, dings, imperfections, etc.). It is a very clean original car, but is by no means a 100 point show car. Please realize this when you bid.8. Please feel free to call me at 704-661-1326. Again, make sure you get satisfactory answers to all questions BEFORE you commit to buy!9. I have transferrable NY registration in my name. There are no liens. Please note that NY issues only transferrable registration cards for vehicles 1972 and below. This document serves as both proof of ownership and registration. It is signed over on back of document to new owner just like a title. I will also provide a bill of sale. Please check with your state's DMV to see if you need additional forms from them.I am sorry for all the rules, but it seems 5% of difficult people spoil things for the 95% who are good. Thanks for looking, good luck, and again, feel free to call me at 704-661-1326. Again, call and leave word. NO TEXTS, CALLS ONLY! |
