Up for sale is a very nice, driver, turn key convertible. 1965 was a restyle year for the Corvair and what we have here is the top of the line, CORSA model. They didn't check too many options on the order sheet when this was new. Only the convenience group which included two speed wipers, washes, day/night inside mirror and interior courtesy lighting along with, oddly the premium front seat belts where chosen. This Corsa still sports its manual tune AM radio and a THREE speed manual transmission which is rarely seen on the Corsa model. Many didn't even know it was available. This car was handed down through just ONE FAMILY before I took position. The last family member hardly drove it and kept it mostly for sentimental value since is was her favorite aunt that purchased it new. Upon my possession I had it completely gone through mechanically. Anything that needed attention was attended to. Here is a short list of recent mechanical work with receipts..- Complete new brake system including master cylinder, hoses, shoes and cylinders- Thermostat bellows- Both heater hoses- Front sway and strut bar bushings- Complete tune-up- Oil and filter change- Drive belt- Engine compartment fuel lines, hoses and pump- Shifter linkage bushings- Front hub bearings and seals- Clean and adjust all four carbsMechanically it's done. Nothing else to do. The interior is all original down to the carpet and appears tidy. Just two rips on the seams of the left front seat and the carpet could use replacement. That would make the interior really pop. All the lighting works, both inside and out. Most of the Corsa gauges work but not all. The original radio powers up but does not play. The paint looks to be a 30 plus year old respray of the original Mediera Maroon and is what I'd consider a 5 out of 10 or and some would call a '10 footer'. There is some checking and small scratches. Body wise the car is generally solid with an amazing trunk floor, battery tray and clean floor boards. Also, the lower windshield panel is clean and rust free. I tried to show the corrosion issues it does have in the pics. Both front lower fenders have corrosion very close to the surface, a common issue with late model Corvairs and the rocker panels, although overall very clean do show small signs of deteriorating but still have plenty of life left. The manual convertible top is VERY NICE and could actually be original to the car. Even the back window is free of any glazing. Just drive this car and enjoy it for what it is. It's an absolute blast to drive! You'll be hard pressed to fine more 60's vintage convertible fun for under what I'm asking. These cars never got the respect they deserve but don't wait. Thanks to publications like Hemmings, they are coming up in a big way and collectors are taking notice. And no better model to have than a late model Corsa convertible. At my asking you can't lose. Buy it. Drive it for two years and sell it for what you paid or more with little or no investment. It's money in the bank! Ask questions. I'll be happy to answer. I have a clean, Massachusetts title in my name. I can easily arrange discounted shipping also! I wouldn't hesitate. Every car I list seems to sell long before the end date of the listing...If you have zero feedback please contact me before bidding or your bid will be removed. Please ask your significant other for permission before purchasing as re-listing comes with a cost. Thanks and GOOD LUCK! |
