This is a very solid Convertible. Four months ago I rescued it from a barn where it had been sitting since the early 1990"s. The body is very good. It had a previous restoration shortly before being parked. The body itself is very good with paint on the upper surfaces showing its age and some cracking. The only rust appears to be a slight bubbling behind the left front wheel It appears that there might be some filler in the body but overall it is a very nice body. the floor and trunk pans are excellent. It does need the normal repair around the battery box. The interior is good but consistent with its age The convertible top and rear window are excellent. Mechanically everything has been rebuilt refurbished, or replaced The engine is a complete rebuild with less than 100 miles. It is by far the best running 110 power glide Corvair I have ever ridden in. It runs fantastic. It is smooth and accelerates very will for a 110. The carburetors and alternator have also been rebuilt. The fuel system has a new fuel pump and a flushed and sealed fuel tank. Both the transmission and differential have all new seals. The rear otor mount and harmonic balancer were replaced. It has all new brakes including master and wheel cylinders, brake shoes, and hoses. Overall, it is mechanically sound and I wouldn't be afraid to get in and drive it across the country It would not take much to make this a very nice care from bumper to bumper As with any resurrected classic car it has required lots of effort to get it to its current condition I have tried to find and fix or replace everything tat it needed. if you buy this car you buy it as is where it is so please ask your questions prior to buying the car. |
