This 1929 Ford Model A Roadster was sold new to Maynard Faith of Fort Wayne, Indiana, remaining with him until about 1953, when it was sold to Pete Melchi, the owner of an automotive upholstery shop (also in Fort Wayne), who moved it with his collection to Angola, Indiana in the 1950's. Pete never titled but slowly worked on the car (including paint) until he dispersed his collection in 2011, with the Model A going to the current owner.Improvements under current ownership include a new LeBaron Bonney top mechanism, soft top, and side curtains, a replica ignition switch from Snyder's, stainless exhaust, 6v alternator, grille guard, modern turn signals (in bumpers, stalk on column), radiator, starter, water pump, added wind wings, and tires that have been driven about 500 miles. The carburetor was also rebuilt during this time. The minor chips in the paint on the top of the passenger's side door have been touched up since pictures were uploaded. Imperfections include some windscreen delamination, small cracks in the steering wheel, and a missing hubcap on the spare wheel. To our knowledge, the engine has never been apart. The body is of course all-steel with no rust.Perhaps the most unusual aspect of this listing is that the buyer will not only be the third titled owner but will also have the original 1929 title and 1953 registration (not copies), plus all receipts from 2011 forward. Please put questions through eBay. Anticipating one of the usual inquiries, I'm selling this Model A because I have acquired a 1931 2-door Phaeton that has replaced it at our summer cottage.WE WILL DELIVER in our own enclosed trailer up to 250 miles from 46703; shipment if beyond that distance is 100% the buyer's responsibility. |
