I ended the previous listing and am relisting with "lower reserve" and "buy it now price". I have revised the description and added some more pics below to ensure a more accurate disclosure. SELLER RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CANCEL THE LISTING IF IT SELLS EARLIER .1943 FORD GPW JEEPAMERICAN MILITARY JEEP FROM 2ND WORLD WAR- BUILT TO LASTThis rare 1943 GPW ( VIN: GPW 101331 manufactured 04/1943) Jeep is ready for off-roading and hunting. Very well maintained and carefully used and always stored indoors in my garage.It is a great candidate for restoring to original. However, you can enjoy it as is for hunting or going on trails and let it appreciate in value. Restore it in future if you wish to.RARE to find a GPW with Proper GPW Ford original chassis, original body & original drive train. MOST OF THEM YOU FIND TODAY ARE WITH AFTER MARKET BODY OR ONES THAT HAVE BEEN PUT TOGETHER USING PARTS FROM SEVERAL JEEPS. It has a slight lift and larger wheels and tires ideal for off road. These have been done without making any alterations or structural changes keeping the integrity of the jeep intact.Original GPW motor and t-84 transmission both seem to match in numbers from April 1943 delivery. Rear axle is locked for off-roading which one can be reset. Front wheel locking hubs and the low/high for 4 wheeling works perfect.Very reliable and fun driver with a convenient easy to maintain 12 volt system.Foot starter like original with the ignition on the dash. Jeep starts right up and drives wonderful. Will go anywhere and bring you back from rough/extreme terrains.All the lights and gauges work.Has driving brights good for the night driving in the forest.Seats are not original, they are custom for comfortable ride when off road . If you need an original F marked seat frame in excellent condition I have one for the drivers side for an additional $250 if you buy the jeep.Gas tank is non original. If you want the original gas tank, I have the original gas tank in good condition and will sell it for additional $250 if you buy the jeep. As you can see the gas tank is from later model m 38 and the filler neck is on the side. this can be welded easily and the original tank can be installed which has the filler under the driver seat.Has the original data plate as you can see in the photos. The number on the plate & title match correctly to the VIN stamped on chassis .Engine is original GPW. I have attached a pic of the number on the block but not very legible as it has to be cleaned better to read, From best of my knowledge it is the engine that was from the factory. It seems to have been rebuilt in the past given the compression as well as the performance and power it has. The engine head is from a later year and not correct. I do have an original head that I will sell for an additional $200 to the person who buys the jeep if he wants.The body is solid given it has some checkered steel reinforcements made by previous owner, perhaps to mount a roll bar, cover dents or rust.The tub has a metal skin which makes it look neat and good, perhaps to cover the flaws in the tub as an easy fix?? Ideal for a cabin in the mountains. This thing will go practically anywhere.I do not have the top frame.The cross channels under the floors seem to have rust. I have attached photos of the underside which are self disclosing of the condition.
