"Reluctantly I am offering for sale my 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham. I purchased this from the original owner in 2006 with just over 90,000 miles on it. At 95 he decided to sell his beloved car, and although I am not that old, the time has come for me to part with it as well. I always thought of Fleetwood's as an older person's car, until I saw Danny from Count's Kustoms, in Las Vegas, driving one on the show (his is a 1965) Who knew they were cool too? As the owner of Chip's Caddy's for close to 20 years, I have owned many Cadillac's during that time. This is the last one I held onto. As an active member of the Cadillac & LaSalle club I was looking for a car the family could use on their driving tours. I also wanted a car to drive to Florida from Michigan. To date the car has been from Michigan to Florida four times, to the Indiana driving tour, the Michigan driving tour, and the Connecticut driving tour (with daily temperatures in the 90's). All without one call to AAA roadside service. Close to 30 thousand trouble free miles. Sunday morning (10-13-2019) I reset the trip odometer and we took a drive up I-75 to some friends for the day. As you can see we put 180 miles +/- on the car this day. I even sat in bumper to bumper lane closures for over 30 minutes. You can see the mileage on the odometer in the dash picture. This car was the perfect choice. Big, comfortable, and best of all room to stretch out and be relaxed. The engine was removed and rebuilt from the ground up. New pistons, camshaft, valve, bearings, ETC, then balanced. I had a 700-R4 transmission with overdrive, and a lock up torque converter installed. This transmission was chosen by a GM dealer transmission re-builder and rebuilt prior to installation. It has performed flawlessly for +/- 30,000 miles. (it was from a pick up truck). This car will do 70 mph at 1800 RPM all day. (I have the original turbo 400, crossmember, mount, dipstick, dipstick tube, and flywheel cover, that will go with the car if you want it.) Next we added front disc brakes from a 1969 Cadillac. That's right, factory parts available at any parts store. All suspension parts have been replace front and rear. All steering parts have been replaced as well. Air shocks in the back allow for adjustment with a car full of people and luggage. I had a larger front sway bar added, and an aftermarket rear sway bar in the back. New radial tires rounded out the ride quality. The body was media blasted, and small repairs made, including in the trunk floor behind the wheels. Virtually rust free, it is still that way today. The body was repainted the original color, door jambs, inside the trunk and such are all still original the original paint, a testament to how clean the car really is. A new vinyl top was installed, as well as the carpet, and headliner. The upholstery is original, and has only a couple of small blemishes. The front seat foam was replaced to firm up the cushions. Original walnut wood trim professionally restored. The car is loaded with every option, and except for a few items, everything works. I will try and list everything I can. I will note exceptions if they do not work. Auto temperature control, both heat and AC work as designed.Tilt and telescope steering wheel,Factory cruise control, works as designed.Auto dimming bright lights, (Guidematic)Auto head lights, (Twilight Sentinal) I do not know if these work as I have never used them.6 way power front seat,Rear window defogger,Electric heated front seats. Sirus radio prepped, and antenna installed.Factory power antenna,Auto leveling system. This does not work. I looked but do not have the original compressor . This was only for the rear, I have manual air shocks installed instead.Automatic trunk lightAdjustable side view mirrorWindshield wipers work, I don't think the washers do?4 stereo speakers re-coned.Foot rests on back of front seatAirplane type fold down seat backs with lampsCornering lightsTurn signals on the top or front fenders.Day/ night rear view mirror,All gauges work.I had a tachometer installed where the clock goes. I have the clock, not sure if it works. Easy swap, nothing was modified.Electric back-up fuel pump.Added oil gauge, transmission temp, volt meter, and lock up control for transmission.Console is held in with just two screws and has 2 outlets for charging phones. The car will be sold on E-bay only, it is not listed on any other platform or locally. According to Haggerty Insurance, they list the following values. #1 $43,900 concourse, #2 $27,300 excellent. #3 $16,400 good.. I would rate my car closer to #2 than #3 I require a $1000 non refundable deposit from Pay Pal for any accepted offers. Full payment within ten days unless arrangements are made before accepting offers. Car must be paid for in full before it leaves. That means the money is verified to be in my account. I have sold a few cars through Chip's Caddy's, and never a negative feed back. I have lived and worked here for virtually my whole life, at this location for over 25 years. I can give you references for serious buyers. I can also recommend a local shop owner that does both body and repair work that will look the car over for you, if you want. Test drives can be arranged at my convenience. Usually evenings. My phone # is 248-703-2119 for calls after 6 pm eastern, or text. If I do not answer leave a message or I will not call back. I can store it for a reasonable time to allow you to make arrangements for pick up. I will work with YOUR transport company as well. The car is located just north of Detroit, Michigan. I believe this car can be driven across the country, but I make no guarantees. I originally listed the car for $18,000 then relisted lower. I had several offers and accepted one but of course, the funds never arrived. If you don't have the money, this car is not for you. Thanks for looking.ChipThanks for looking. |
