CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
1969 Plymouth Road Runner Convertible with Modern 5.7 Hemi and A/CMake no mistake, this is one of the 1880 or so 1969 Convertible Plymouth Road Runners. The fender tag and VIN confirm it. But it was given the RestoMod treatment about 14 years ago with a Modern 5.7 HEMI and AOD Transmission. It is quite the RELIABLE cruiser! From the research I've done since owning this car, its was converted from a 383 with automatic to a 5.7 HEMI and a Automatic Overdrive Transmission around 2007 or so. It was done very well, and has been unlike any other Mopar I've owned in that you get in and it starts right up and drives! I still can't get over plugging in a ODB-II connector in to check things out. I laugh every time I do!Since I've owned it, I have had the front end completely rebuilt and had a custom transmission mount made as the rubber on the original was getting old and was a custom job. So a brand new one was created with new rubber. This work was done by Tri-C Engineering in Valencia, California, known for creating many stunt cars for movies! I also replaced a front O2 sensor and put on high flow cats. So, now you can cruise in a reliable Mopar with top down. Since installing the Cats, I unplugged the downstream cats as this was recommended by the 5.7 to B-Body harness manufacturer -- Hotwire. Main Features of the car and completed work prior to my purchase:B5 Blue converted interior to Blue with White bucket seats (originally Red with Black Interior)Modern EFI 5.7 HEMIModern A/CI believe the rear end is 3.73 gears but I can not confirmNew front suspension (I had this done)Front Disc brakes (A Body conversion kit), Drum RearPower booster looks to be in good conditionNew gas tank and EFI unitDigital Dash (Tachometer does not work, I am not an electronics guy, so I leave that to the new owner)Newer tops and comes with 2 boots. One blue and one white.Interiors is in good condition, no rips or tears. Seats appear to be original and rear seat could use new springs eventually. Here are the issues:1. The right rear window needs a little help in getting up. You have to hold it a little so it gets up properly. Other than that the mechanism was gone through and all parts are in place. There are aftermarket electric replacements that I planned on putting in but I leave that to the new owner.2. There are two frame stiffening rods that were welded in place at one time in the car's life. They run from the back of the car to the torsion bar cross member. However, the left stiffening rod only has the left side welded in place. I should probably just drill a hole and bolt it through. Regardless, this is due to number 3 below.3. There is a bend in the torsion bar cross member on the left side. It looks like it got whacked or fell off a jack. Ran over a median perhaps? Who knows, but it has a bend in it. I have purchased a new replacement, but when I got the front end rebuilt and tranny mount made, the shop owner told me that it was perfectly fine and to not touch it unless you are planning on completely restoring the car. So, I agreed, left it alone and have driven it for over a year. The new cross member that purchased, I will include with the purchase to be used or let collect dust.4. There are two paint cracks above the trunk on the back deck of the car. When I bought the car, I literally fell apart, because I used to have a 70 Satellite Convertible with the same paint cracks in the same place. They made the car to undulate and flex so just part of the fun I suppose! :)5. It never hurts to mention that because I have gotten very busy, that I have not driven the beast for a few months, and I think the tires might have some flat spots!!! :( The tires look to have a date code of 2016, so they are fairly new but might need to be swapped out for a fresh set.6. In regard to the mileage, the odometer in the car says around 2000 on the digital dash, but being that this car is over 50 years old, I just put in 100,000. So, I have no idea of the actual mileage.7. As I type this I am reminded that I need to have my head examined for selling this beast. But times being what they are, we sometimes have to let go of what we NEVER thought we would! One last thing, it says that I am located in Purcellville, VA but I moved to Valencia, CA close to two years ago. So the car and I am located in Valencia.
