| About this vehicleThis 1972 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser is extremely reliable and can be a daily driver. Customized power steering gives it a heavy vehicle feel and drives great. All original gauges work and speedometer calibrated to tires. I have a couple videos on YouTube. https://youtu.be/F2ePoqqliHwSeller's NotesMechanic owned for 30 years. It has a1983 BJ60 2F 4.2L engine with 4speed trans with split transfer case. Upgraded front end to 1976 FJ40 disc brake system, power booster and master cylinder. Upgraded rear brakes to disc used on 4Runner. Installed power steering gearbox. Replaced clutch, pressure plate release bearing, pilot bushing, clutch master and slave cylinders. Resealed, rebearing, and new synchronizers in transmission, transfer gearbox, front and rear axles, new suspension springs, shackles and bushings. Engine has two alternators, both work only one hooked up. Only thing I didn’t go thru was the engine bc it runs too good to mess with. I acquired it at 79k and I estimate it has about 100k now. It has an electric fuel pump I use to prime the system since I rarely use it anymore and a new OEM pump on eng. Sound box has two amps to power 2- 12” sub woofers, 1 amp for the two midrange speakers fabricated to roll bar and one amp to power two tweeters welded into roll cage. Has equalizer and crossover. No receiver, I use iPhone Bluetooth. Box been wet a few times but still sounds great. Also houses winch control and Hella driving lights master switch. Tail lights are leds I had here that I customized. Stop and turn light up “FJ”. Customizable with several patterns. Price reduced, to allow exhaust pipe repair.
