Please read carefully: This car was born a base model Mustang, 6cyl, manual everything, 3 speed clutch. It has had 2 Major restorations:2011- 28,000 dollars: Engine rebuild, trans changed to C4 automatic, power disc front brakes added, power steering added, Painted Candy Red, new interior from a 1970 Mustang (parchment/white), new deluxe carpet, all new bulbs and a lot of metal work. I bought the car in 2019.2019-2020 Restoration: Converted to V8. Period correct 302 block, now 347 Stroker, all hardened internals, Scat, Wiesco, Mahle. Promaxx heads Competition 5 angle valve job ported to heads. Fast EZ EFI system; Elite Custom A/C fit for 1967 Mustang as factory. 4-wheel 4 Piston Wilwood disc brake system. Rebuilt stage 1 Ford AOD Transmission; B&M Quicksilver shifter, 1968 Mustang 8 inch Rear End; new 3.55 Richmond gears. New American racing Torque Thrust II Wheels. Bodywork: Had to have drivers side rear frame rail and all support sheet metal replaced; Passenger side frame was cut and repaired along with all other bad metal. Quarter panels are fine and all other rear metal was changed in 2011.I just got the car back from the restoration that was done beginning July 2019. The relationship with the builder did not end well and I will not take the car back to them. The rebuild has 68 miles on it.Areas of concern: I'm having a hard time getting the engine to settle out in all driving conditions. All adjustments via the handheld EZ system and it still has a dead spot around 3,000 rpm. The brake pedal is hard. I've had the system checked for vacuum leaks and no one has found anything. I took the car out today and lost the power steering. I haven't looked into the cause yet, but the hoses were changed during this build. I'm 59, live in a Condo, and don't have the room or access to deal with this. And I'm pissed off. I want the car gone. I spent 50,000 dollars on this build; you can have a great deal, with full honesty from me. Comes with brand new in the box Magnaflow stainless exhaust designed for 1967 mustang; rebuilt 8 inch pumpkin 3.80 posi gears, also new in box. Heavy duty front sway bar, new in box. |
