This is a 1970 Plymouth Duster 340 that I purchased and restored over the course of about 4 years. The car came with a rebuilt 360 engine dressed up as a 340, which is currently in it. I also tracked down the original numbers matching factory 340 engine. Although it needs rebuilt, hence why it is not in the car already. Completely street legal all lights, blinkers and hazards work. New upholstery on all the original seat frames and foam, original factory color, (although still needs headrests reupholstered which I have in possession as well). The dash is the original Rallye cluster only offered in 1970 with 340 A body cars, very rare, I have since restored the cluster by hand, its not professional but as you can see in the photos it works well. There are a few things that need replaced in the interior such as the headliner, the carpet in the floorboard, and the passenger door panel along with armrest. Doors, locks, window cranks, and latches all work properly on the car as well. Now the body work was done very carefully over a year or two, repairing all rust areas with new panels and sections, all done by a professional welder. When all the rust was taken care of, I moved on to doing body work while being carefully supervised by local guys from bodyshops, making sure to use proper tools and techniques. In other words, the body lines have been done very well. I also painted the car myself in a professional booth guided by a collision repair instructor. The color is original to the car, year, and has the matching year and trim specific stripes. While this car still has a few things that need finished, and the original 340 motor rebuilt, about 90% of the work has already been done. Now you might be asking yourself, why would someone want to sell a car like this? In all honesty, it isn’t due to financial troubles, or because the car has underlying issues, that some people see as a great opportunity to sell (I personally don’t favor those sales), but I truly believe that this car deserves a better owner. I have since moved away from my hometown and have no place to store the car, which means it just stays in a shop back home being maintained until I can come back every summer to take it to a few shows that I can attend. To me personally I feel that car needs much more attention and use, than what I’m able to give it. Now I’ve done a lot of research andI believe that this is a very fair price for the car given its rarity, originality, and the condition. |
