1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air Convertible This car has been in our family and lovingly taken care of for 25 years. This is a unique and unusual Canadian assembled 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible. These Canadian produced models visually looked the same as their U.S. built brethren, but had some uniquely Canadian sourced components under the hood and were actually available in 4 additional colors that weren't offered on the U.S. built models. This car runs and drives great. I'm told it would beconsidered a #3/#4 "nice driver"/restoration candidate. Somehighlights and specifics: BodyStyle: 2dr convertibleEngine:8 cyl., 327 cu. in rebuildTransmissionand differential: 3 speed manual, column shift - stock differentialFuel/Exhaust:Rochester 4BBL carb and dual exhaustOther: Electric windows, power convertible top, bumpers in good condition, grille in good condition, trim and emblems are good, engine compartment is good but could use detailing, floorboards and frame are all solid frame rails and look very good with body braces that are remarkably clean. The seats are good, with some fading, and the non-padded dashboard is good along with the gauges. Paint/Body:There is evidence of filler at the bottom of both front fenders in normal rust locations. Passenger rear quarter shows evidence of a partial panel replacement. A new full quarter and inner fender may be necessary down the road for a proper remedy. This is a unique car given it's Canadian heritage. It's a fun driver, and a good candidate for either a restomod or a stock restoration. |
