AltogetherI purchased this car for $9,000 and have spent over $18,000 on the mechanics ofthis car, my total cost $27,000, and it runs and drives very well but there areleaks on the garage floor possibly from the transmission seal not beingproperly installed. The engine was mounted directly onto the frame of the carwithout rubber bushings for reasons I don’t understand but that’s a simple fix.It still has the original radiator which is inadequate for this very powerfulCamero SS engine. It is supposed to have a new fuel sending unit but the fuelgauge does not work. Hood latch is not easy to secure and requires adjustmenthowever the hood opens properly and the automatic hood stand works properly. All doors and crank windows work properly. Original cowl vent has new rubberseal and works properly. The face of the original radio has been preserved forlooks but the huge under dash portion of the original tube-type radio has beenremoved to make room for the new Vintage Air. The car has some minor rustissues but the floor pans are solid. Most of the hard work has been donealready. The body is solid with all the original chrome and stainless steelparts. No door or trunk keys however the trunk lid opens without a key. ThisClassic New Yorker will make an excellent, low cost entry level daily driverfor the Classic (Sleeper) Restomod Enthusiast.
