With 285 horsepower and the push-button Torque Flite automatic transmission it was a true early muscle car. Mechanical Our Royal has the 325 cubic inch Hemi with a Carter carburetor with the correct factory air cleaner assembly, with 285 horsepower and the push-button Torque Flite automatic transmission. It looks factory correct and sits in a clean and detailed engine compartment with options like the power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning. Big news for 1957 was the all new Torsion-Aire suspension which ours has. It was an independent torsion bar system that included ''anti-dip'' upper and lower control arms, shock absorbers and an anti-roll bar. Complementing the front system was a rear leaf-spring suspension with shock absorbers. Each of the 2.50-inch wide five-leaf springs measures 55 inches in length and the rear differential was mounted forward of center to reduce spring wind-up during hard acceleration. Interior Look inside and you will see the 60/40 front seat in red/grey with a great tri-color dashboard, door panels, carpet, headliner, power steering, factory radio with dual antennas, and the most desirable feature, factory air conditioning. Exterior Advertising bragged of the Dodge's "New low look! New safety-strength design! More fine-car features than any other car at its price! Now see the new queen of automotive fashion...the long, low, lovely Dodge Custom Royal for '57! Drive and ride in the all-new luxury of the biggest, finest Dodge of all." And we have one here that looks great with its two-tone Red and White interior with great body panels and chrome, dual rear antennas, dual mirrors, wide whitewall tires, factory full size wheel covers, and only 87000 miles on the speedo! Conclusion The 1957 Dodge Custom Royal like the one we have here at Skyway Classics is an excellent example of what most collectors consider to be the most desirable of 1950s Dodges. Ours checks off all the boxes with the V8 engine, factory air conditioning, great red on white paint scheme, and those whitewall tires! Come see it today. So give us a call at 941-254-6608.
