1951 Chevrolet Deluxe Custom Convertible You are viewing a very special high end custom build that was featured in Street Rodder Magazine October issue of 2015. The car was built in 2005 and refreshed in 2014 with new paint, top and bright work redone and or polished. A body off custom build with great classic custom features. 9,100 miles driven since initial completion of the build. Nice and clean beautiful car with under 1000 miles driven since refreshed 6 years ago. Shows really nice. Over 100K invested in the build. Please read on for more particulars of the car: Body/Paint: All steel body with some custom features. Body modifications were done by John Gerken. He grafted a 1959 Imperial grill to the stock pieces that was so well done you would swear it was designed by the factory. He also grafted 1953/1954 Ford/Mercury headlight rings to the fenders. Louvered hood with water catch underneath. More stylized Pontiac beltline trim replaces the stock pieces. He also grafted 1955 Chevy taillights into the quarters with 1956 Buick lenses and shave some emblems. Frenched radio antenna and headlights. Trunk opens with an interior popper as well as a key. The body is super strait. The paint is Lexus Matador red base/clear that is absolutely beautiful and shows really well. Very high end quality paint wet sanded and buffed to a gorgeous finish. Interior: Beautiful two tone custom interior using 68 Ford Fairlane seats and Falcon console, seat belts, tach in place of the clock, Classic Instruments combo gauges, Polished I did it tilt steering column with custom Lecarra steering wheel. Stereo AM/FM radio/CD player with two door mounted speakers. Trunk pop button under dash. Power top: Frame is restored and looks super clean with new weather stripping. Top is a beautiful maroon cloth that fits very nice. Replaced in 2014 and looks like new and works like it should. Running Gear: 383 Chevy stroker with Holley Tri-Power induction systems but beyond that it's built to cruise. Starts, runs and drives excellent. Rebuilt TH350, 2200 stall with trans cooler. Ford 9 inch with a 3.23:1 gear on a Traction Lok gear carrier. Suspension: The frame got a new Total Cost Involved cross member with Mustang II rack and pinion components. The rear end has dropped leaf springs. Bright work: Restored and or replaced and beautiful. Custom features as described above. Glass: One piece windshield and all new glass. Exhaust: Shorty ceramic headers with a very nicely done 2.5 inch pipe lay out with Flow Masters. The car sounds very nice with a good street lope to the cam. Functional Lake pipes. Brakes: Power front disc brakes with drum rears. Wheels/Tires: Wheels are Polished Torque Thrust with radials. Front 205/60 16 and 235/60 16 rears. Summary: This car is all ready to go and needs nothing from the new owner other than to be driven and enjoyed. Does well at car shows and drives like a dream. Very reliable and fun car to own. I have over 130 pictures of the car so please contact me and provide your email address if you would like additional pictures. Great value and a quality car for the money.
