I'm pleased to present my 1966 big block corvette. I have owned this car 17+ years and have lovingly maintained it to a high standard. I'm presenting this car as a solid #2 condition. I drive it occasionally to keep it in good running order, unfortunately I no longer have the time for two Corvettes that are driven only occasionally on sunny days, thus the lower than normal Buy It Now price. The car has a Nassau blue exterior and a white + blue vinyl interior with white seats, headliner, and door panels and blue carpet, console, and dash. Original big block car but not original motor/NOM 427ci engine with 4 speed manual transmission. The NOM 427ci engine shows a casting number from early 1967 model year with correct air cleaner, valve covers, and ignition shielding. Features include knockoff wheels, gold line tires, original AM/FM radio, and teakwood steering wheel. The GM official Production Date was November 1, 1965 per NCRS Shipping Data Report. This car is in excellent condition and has had extensive restoration work, as an unsuspecting owner (me) poured a bunch of money into it thinking NCRS would not change their rules and eliminate judging of any car without the original trim tag. The replacement trim tag is faithful to the original and shows the correct codes for when the car was new. The car was judged before this rule change and was judged at 83.2 points, high Third Flight and only 1.8 points shy of Second Flight. Restoration was continued but then the rule change hit. If judged today it would be mid- to high Second Flight. This car's paint is good-very good, with a great shine and a couple nicks around the wheel wells. Chrome bumpers show a very good finish, and taillights, weather-stripping, and knockoff wheels and spinners are all very good-excellent. Goodyear gold line tires show an average of 18/32nds tread depth remaining. The interior – seats, door panels, sill plates, carpet, seat belts, gauges, glovebox lid, center console, and dash pods – shows good-excellent. The original, replaced OEM white door panels are included. Exhaust system has less than 500 miles since installation. For an extra $500 I will include complete side exhaust including rear, solid fascia in the correct color. Extensive records and invoices dating back to April 2003 are included. This car has recently been fully serviced, and all instrument gauges, lights, turn signals, brakes, engine, transmission and rear-end are in very good-excellent operating condition. If you are in the market for a collectible Corvette that you will absolutely love driving and showing, look no further. C2 Corvettes are becoming a scarce item in the collector car world and owning a gem like this is definitely something to enjoy. |
