1970 CHEVELLE CONVERTIBLE LS6 TRIBUTE (PROJECT CAR) Offered for your consideration is a brand-new build that is currently in progress. We have started to build a tribute of the iconic 1970 Chevelle LS6 Convertible. The build can go in different directions from its present status. We have started with a Dynacorn convertible shell and added new door shells and a trunk lid. The front sheet metal is all manufactured by General Motors. We mounted the shell on a southern convertible frame that was powder-coated and is in brand new condition. We have built and dyno tested a true LS6 engine starting with a 1970 GM 512 block. This LS6 motor generates 486 horsepower on the dyno!! The chassis consists of a GM 12 bolt rear-end and the final gear ratio has not been determined yet. We built a fresh Turbo 400 automatic transmission to be mated with the LS6 power-plant. We added all new fuel lines and brake lines and brake components. The interior features all new factory bucket seats and a white colored upholstery kit from Distinctive Industries along with a brand-new power assisted white convertible top, correct SS gauge cluster with factory tachometer and a deluxe mahogany wood steering wheel. The stereo is a Retro Sound AM/FM digital unit with USB/AUX options. The car sits on F70-14 Goodyear Polyglas bias ply tires are mounted on the correct 14-inch 1970 coded SS rims with new center caps, beauty rings and matching lug nuts.
