1969 Pontiac GTO Real “242” 455 4 Speed. (Original Automatic car with A/C) Runs and drives good. Power brakes, Manual steering. Hide away head lightsBody: The cars was painted about 5 years by a previous owner. House of Colors True blue. The job has held up well but lots of the previous body work is starting to show where filler and past rust repair was done, I believe the hood and Endura bumper must have been resprayed at some point as they are a tad lighter shade then the rest of the car. The car has some rust bubbling in some areas see pics and video of body imperfections. Floors and trunk are rock solid. The car looks beautiful form 10’ away and as you get closer you will see the minor imperfections. Interior: I believe it to be mostly original. Factory blue and is in driver quality condition. Driver seat has a rip. Carpet is old but still intact. Headliner is good and does not sag. Dash has a hard-shell cover. Original steering wheel in good shape. Door panels and some are worn. Has a nice Hurst shifter with white ball. Window cranks are there but are missing clips in the rear. Aftermarket under dash water, volts, and oil pressure gauges work. Speedo and fuel gauge work. Original Radio in place but not hooked up. Drive-Train: Car is powered by a rebuilt (previous owner info)“1971” Pontiac 455 that has been mildly worked over by engine builder Ron Rocchi (I was not familiar with the name) supposedly bored to 469, has 6x heads and a ram air 3 cam. Has a nice idle. Recent tune up with plugs, wires and fresh oil change. Mated to the 455 is Muncie 4 speed that operates well. This car was converted to a Manual by a previous owner. Clutch is light and functions as it should, though may need some adjustment. Shifts into all gears good, but after long periods of driving, shifter gets stiff when trying to find first gear. I recently installed and brand-new set of Hooker headers along with complete 2-1/2” h-pipe Flowmaster exhaust. It is NOT a good speed bump setup. Posi-traction rear with 3:36 gears works great.Suspension/Brakes: I recently went through most of the Front suspension. New Upper and lower tubular control arms. New rotors.Mechanical: All lights work, Heater and AC have been deleted. But I have most of the parts. Power brakes, Manual steering. High torque starter. Wheels: Has a nice set of 14” x 7” American racing torque thrust mounted on BFG T/A White letter tires. Staggered sizes.Needs: Emergency brake needs to be installed. Hide away headlights are not hooked up.Conclusion: This not perfect show car, but a very good driver that you will not be ashamed to take to your local cruise night or car show. GTO runs, drives, and stops good. PHS documents come with the car.If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call Scott @ 559 259-8069. Car is in Sanger CA.Please check out the links for videos of the car. |
