Offered for sale here is this beautiful Tahitian Coral 1958 Chrysler Windsor 2dr Hardtop, one of only 6,205 built that year. This car lived the first part of it's life in dry Colorado, and then moved to Arizona before we purchased it about 8 yrs ago or so. The gentleman we bought it from was a lifelong Chrysler mechanic and he had a dream of building a Windsor with the 392 Hemi that was otherwise found in the New Yorker and 300 series cars. He performed the swap on this car in about the 1990's. He installed a fully rebuilt 392ci Chrysler Hemi, and did several other upgrades to the ignition and carburetion at that time. He then drove the car extensively until age got the better of him and he was forced to let it go. We've gone through the entire chassis since I bought it, checking all the suspension, brake, and driveline components and replaced what needed to be. This car has been on several extensive roadtrips and has always driven like a dream! Recently, the Holley carburetor that was on it started leaking, so I installed a brand new Street Demon carburetor to replace it. Really nice quality and car starts right up and runs like a top now! The car had been repainted in it's original color of Tahitian Coral some time in it's past, I'm not sure when. The paint job is really good, and has wonderful shine and luster to it, but it's a 20-footer. Once you get up close you can see blemishes and little scratches and such. This car is on the edge between a really nice driver and a show car; it wouldn't take much to make this a sweet award winner!Chrome is original throughout the car, hazing and scratches are present, but nothing is broken, missing, or dented. For a daily driver, I wouldn't recommend changing a thing. Interior is redone in a period style vinyl. Supportive seats, and no rips or stains evident. Original headliner is in beautiful shape, and the original doorpanels are also very nice! New dash pad is very soft and padded. Steering wheel has some cracks and age, so the wheel cover helps preserve it from additional damage, could either be recast or replaced in the future. Car runs and drives like day 1, no worries about going down the road. Tires are older Bias-Ply whitewalls, they aren't badly checked, but for peace of mind maybe the new owner can either replace with new ones or go with Radial tires, that's up to them. Overall, it a really solid and presentable car. Very rarely do you see the Windsor 2dr Hardtops, and this one has always been very well preserved. I don't drive this one enough, so I sadly have to let it go. I'm not a dealer and there are no fees outside of the final bid! Car is located in Lubbock, Texas and is available for inspections and/or test drives.
