My wife and I bought this car to make a driver out of it about ten years ago. Circumstances changed and we never finished it completely. The last few years, the car has been sitting in my building at work. I retired and have moved out of the building. Now the car is in my driveway. I just spent a couple of days removing old gas, changing old leaking fuel lines, getting the brakes to stop, quick carburetor clean, etc. Now it starts, idles, runs and drives (sometimes I think the carburetor float is getting stuck open). Before putting on the road, the brakes should be more thoroughly checked, the carburetor cleaned and adjusted/or rebuilt. I took a video of the car running and am trying to figure out how to download it onto Ebay. There is some rust in the body which is why I was just going to generally fix what was needed and drive it, as opposed to spending a lot of time and money trying to resolve the rust issue and restoring it. I bought the car from someone that brought it back from Illinois, and It was originally built in Kansas City according to the VIN. I have a new black convertible top in the box for it. Passenger window glass is missing and the window frame is in the trunk. This is a decent looking car that could be a driver with some work. I would not buy it to make a show car or something out of it. Has the original aluminum 215 V-8 engine which runs well and automatic transmission, two sets of hubcaps in the trunk. Most of the chrome is there. Power steering. Radiator not leaking. The car was repainted before I bought it, original color was called Saddle Mist as the trunk pictures and dash show. Email me if you want to check it out in person or have any questions. Pick up only or arrange shipping. |
