One 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible for sale. Clear TX Title. I purchased the Camaro in December and intended to transition it into a daily driver. That hasn't happened, so I'm moving on.The Camaro starts easily and idles smoothly. In addition, the transmission shifts smoothly and the clutch engages/disengages without issue. The Camaro runs and drive, but I would recommend trailering it home. It shakes at speeds over 40 mph.It's an original 327 / 4 speed (with Hurst shifter) car. I'm unsure if it was a 2 bbl or 4 bbl car. The car has mono-leaf springs, so I'm guessing it was a 2 bbl car. The Camaro does not retain the original 327. The previous owner tossed a rod through that block. Instead the car has what is presumed to be a rebuilt 350 of unknown origin. The Camaro was originally white with blue interior and blue top. The interior was dyed black and the top replaced with a black top sometime in it's life. The core support and passenger inner fender were replaced by the previous owner after the battery let go. The car has some older big n' little Cragar SS Mags and NEW (less than 100 miles) Cooper Cobra Tires all the way around. One spinner center cap is missing off the front passenger wheel. The Cragars aren't new, they were purchased at Pate Swap Meet last year for another Camaro we own. The lights all work with the exception of the console gauge lights. The door buzzer even works. The car needs body bushings, control arm bushings, front and rear "cocktail shaker" vibration dampeners, Convertible Floor Pan Cross Brace and a couple wheels studs replaced. The car could also use the front passenger floor pan replaced/patched, as there is a hole in the floor pan, just behind the transmission cross-member. The black convertible top needs replaced and the convertible top frame has been repaired on the passenger side (braced and riveted by previous owner). The passenger seat is toast and will need a new seat bottom spring assembly, padding and seat cover. The front floor boards have oil in the carpet. I'm guessing the line came off the console fuel pressure gauge previous to my ownership. As you can tell, parts of the car have been resprayed at some point. The clear coat is lifting on top of both front fenders. There's definitely body filler in the driver's lower rear quarter panel (see pic). I'll post a picture of the cowl tag tomorrow. I neglected to take a picture of it. In the interim, you might be able to zoom in on it in the engine compartment pics. The car's mileage is unknown and is exempt in TX and shows "EXEMPT" on the clear TX title.The Camaro is a good solid restoration candidate. This car was used by the previous family as transportation, for the largest part of it's history, dating back to the early 90s. It's a 52 year old car that's been driven and used continuously most of it's life and shows obvious signs of use. If you have questions regarding the car, please let me know. The car is being kept indoors until the new owner takes possession. FYI, the reserve is considerably less than the BIN and is a value if you ask me.A $500 deposit is required at auction end. The car must be picked up within 10 days of auction end, unless other arrangements are made with me previous to auction end.
