I have up for auction a 1965 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 V8 restomod. Very fast, and very fun. The body work has just been completed, and any rust issues were dealt with. GM crate 350, Edelbrock Air Gap Performer intake manifold, Edelbrock 650 Performer carb. New fuel pump and water pump. Over the fender style headers into 2 1/2" exhaust, with Flowmaster 10 Series mufflers. New Powermaster one wire 150 amp alternator. New wiring front to back, with new bulbs and LED taillights. New aluminum radiator and electric fan. Also a new battery.Advance Adapters bell housing conversion kit, V8 to Toyota 4 speed H42 gear box. New clutch/clutch kit. New clutch master cylinder, lines, and slave cylinder. 4 speed is from a 1975 FJ40. It has a 3 speed style transfer case. The 3 speed T-case is geared 2.4:1 where the 4 speed T-case is 1.9:1. So with the lower first gear in the 4 speed the final low is 8:1 instead of 6:1. New drive lines and axles from a 1971 FJ40. The 1965 axles had ball and claw front axle, which is too weak for a V8 and better gears. So I installed 1971 Birfield type front axle and matching rear. New shocks were installed. New brake system includes 4 wheel disc brakes, new power booster, master cylinder, lines, calipers and rotors. A GM booster was used because in 1965 the brake and clutch pedals were too close together so a Toyota booster cannot be used. A GM hot rod booster is the only one that fits. Mid 70's GM passenger car calipers and Trail Gear milled rotors are used so all parts are easily sourced.New Vintage Air Heater/Defroster was installed, sorry no AC, just a great defroster. New gauges by iEquus, including new fuel gauge and sending unit. Also, a new windshield and gasket was installed. I installed new racing seats with 4 point harnesses which are useful with the V8 and better gears as this thing is a beast. There is no hard top or hard doors included with this rig. This is a factory soft top model. It is very rare. It has a fold down style tailgate, instead of the barn door style rear doors. The fold down style came with this vehicle due to it being a soft top model. For approximately $1,000 you can purchase a Bestop Soft top with 2 piece doors. Which is a nice option as you can take it wheeling and fold the top down, then put it back up for the drive home.I have a YouTube channel called Landcruiser intervention where I show others how to repair and restore FJ40's. This vehicle has been used in many videos during its rebuild.Vehicle is sold "AS IS, WHERE IS, NO WARRANTY IS EXPRESSED AND/OR IMPLIED". All shipping arrangements must be arranged by buyer. Until reserve is met I reserve the right to sell locally.Feel free to contact me with any questions, Patrick at (559) 554-6269, text is best to weed out the Robo Callers |
