With some sadness and pride, we have decided to sell the family Biscayne. This car has been in the family since August 28, 1961. It has 39033 original miles. A true survivor! The motor has a 235 inline 6 cylinder with a Power-glide automatic transmission. It has a oil bath which fastens above the single barrel carburetor, no oil filter was part of the spec on this car model. The car is Jewel Blue and has been stored indoors most of its life and never winter driven. My wife and I have had it since 2012. Upon owning it we had the motor removed and all seals, gaskets replaced. The motor was cleaned and painted, complete brake work, new exhaust, and service were completed. In recent weeks the carburetor was replaced and car serviced. The car is virtually rust free, with no corrosion or perforation of any kind. The original seats and interior are in immaculate condition. The 61 Biscayne is the first year of the re-design, with the low profile, iconic front and rear bubble glass, and the only year with the rear roof shelf over the bubble glass. A radio was installed in the 60's and the delete panel is still with the car. The headliner is intact and in excellent condition as well. The original vinyl flooring has been replaced with a deep royal blue berber auto carpet. A great classic car for family cruising, surfing, or possibly updating to modern power with a crate motor! Please contact myself through ebay for any questions regarding the cars service, condition, etc. I have many more photos of the cars fenders, rocker panels ,etc. May you and your families have a safe and fun summer! |
