This is a beautiful car that is a blast to drive, especially with the top down as it was meant to be! True 24267 car. Rebuilt 455 motor (NOM) about 20 years ago, still runs strong. Comes with original, numbers matching 400 (needs to be rebuilt). Original numbers matching 4 speed transmission shifts great. Has a 3.23 posi rear but comes with original 3.55 axle. What I have replaced since owning: Carpet, shifter, clutch, clutch linkage, rebuilt tilt wheel, All new brake lines (stainless), Every major wire harness, converted to power front disc brakes, all new upper and lower control arms, all springs, all shocks, front sway bar, AM/FM radio with bluetooth (works great, looks stock), all speakers, vacuum lines, T3 headlamps, windshield, wheels, poverty hub caps, tires, mufflers and more.Other original options on this car include: power steering, remote mirror, console, oil & temp gauges and in-dash tac.Overall car looks great, but it is not a show car. Mechanically everything works except for water and oil temp gauges. Hideaways work great. Interior is mostly original except for drivers seat cover. No cracks in dash. I installed a set of deluxe seatbelts but comes with original belts. Interior looks great considering it's age, but there are blemishes.I did not have car painted, so I will tell you as much as I know as possible about the body. I do know trunk pan and around rear wheel wells were replaced with metal. Not sure why this car sports a lemans trunk lid. Previous owner never even noticed until I pointed it out. (and he owned this car for almost 20 years!) Hood was replaced with repo unit when painted last, due to sandblasting mishap (not from rust). The floor pans on drivers side, front and back were replaced. They are solid but are not cosmetically correct, as they were installed over the rust. Rest of the floor is solid. I do have an entire, rust free, floor pan available for extra money. However, I don't think this needs to be replaced, as patch panels welded in properly will do the trick. Bumper looks original, but could not say for sure. It has a few dings and blemishes. I want to be very clear about this car. The body is solid with no rust except where mentioned. All rust repairs were done with metal and, as far as I can tell, there is no bondo in this car (except, possibly, for smoothing purposes).Paint is what I would call driver quality. Color of the car is off a few shades but it looks great! Really pops in the sun. Unfortunately, the inside of trunk, door jams and inside front fenders were not painted the same color. They are the original shade of limelight green. This drove me crazy when I came to look at the car and I almost didn't buy it. Ultimately, I had driven a long way and decided to load it anyway. Over the years, I don't really notice it any more. In fact, I usually have to point it out to people. I just want to be as honest as possible about this car. I don't want you to have the same experience as I had. Convertible top works good and is in good shape. It is about 20 years old. Color was changed to white (should have been dark green). I think the color change looks good on this car. Side and quarter glass are ok. However, there are large scratches on passenger side window.Engine is in good shape and runs strong. It does burn a little oil and will need a quart every 3 to 4 fill-ups. It also has a small leak on front of oil pan but rear seal seems fine. I dressed up the motor to look like an original 69 motor as much as possible. It is a rattle can job but looks very good. You certainly won't be embarrassed to open the hood and show it off to your friends.I am selling this car with a ton of extra parts so be sure to make an allowance for them when you come to pick it up. Parts include: original motor (with stand), original hood (good shape, was distorted from sand blasting), original front suspension and drums, original rear axle, extra set of 14 x 7 rally II wheels with tires, trim rings, lugs and centers. I have included a picture with the car wearing the rally II wheels, in case you don't like the poverty hubcaps. I also have the original AM radio and a tote filled with original parts. Plus, if you purchase the floorpan, all this will add a considerable weight to your load.I have PHS on this car proving it's the real deal. Changes to the car from how it was originally built include: Power front disc brakes, tilt wheel, AM/FM stereo, and the hide-away headlights. I am also including a stack of receipts for most of the work I have done and from previous owners. Mileage on car is unknown to me, however, eBay insists on a number. Just want to be sure you know. I will send them out to you as quick as possible. I have been very critical of this car in order to be as honest as possible. It truly looks as good in real life as it does in the photos and runs great too. However, keep in mind this is a 50 year old car and is being sold as is. I have tried to be as honest as possible about this car, so please forgive me if I forget a flaw or two. Call me with any questions or if you wish to see more pics - 317-370-9785. Thanks! |
