We collect original unrestored cars and this is one that is in our collection we are considering selling only because we have 30 cars and could use some extra room to move around. The car is what it is, an original with less than 35,000 miles 1974 Chevrolet Vega Estate station wagon with all the bells and whistles of the day and the closest to a time capsule you will find. Bought out of an estate in the South East from the original owner's Estate, and driven very infrequently by us over the years. Most of the it's life now is just sitting in air conditioned storage or being shuffled around so we can pull out other cars. Other than flushing the fuel system, replacing the tires , battery and air filter and giving it a tune up, and cleaning it, it is as it was bought and used by the original owner for all these years. As of today, everything but the clock is working ( clocks on old cars never seem to last long on any of our cars ). There is no smoking, dripping, leaking, funny noises etc. There is NO rust . There is NO body damage. The paint is shiny and beautiful. The passenger side outside mirror and brackets of the rook rack are starting to get aluminum pits but it is not noticeable to anyone who has seen the car. Just pointing out what we know so there are no surprises. The car has an automatic transmission, manual steering, manual brakes, cold air conditioning, am/fm stereo, passenger mirror, rear defroster, accessory gauges, fold down rear seat, roof rack and probably some things I don't know or forgot. The car starts right up and drives well ( well, it drives like a 1974 Vega ). We have taken it on a few 100 plus mile day trips and have never had any problems or issues with the car.It would be a great addition to any collection or a fun and different car to take to cruise ins and shows if that is your thing. As it is a 46 year old used car, it is being sold as is, where is, with no warranties. We do not want anything at all in trade as we have all the cars we can possibly use or play with. We are also not desperate to sell it and are fine if it stays in our collection forever. Any deposits made are non-refundable as this is a contract to buy the car, not a contract to tire kick. |
