1950 CHEVROLET 5700 COE TRUCKThis is a cool old COE truck. It has the 5-window cab and stainless trim inside and out. This truck is straight, very dry, and very minor rust. It's a great truck to build, or do a little work and drive it as-is. I can help arrange shipping if needed, and I can take the bed off if you'd like before shipping. I cannot deduct from the price if I keep the bed, because it's quite abit of labor to remove it. The bed does add quite abit of weight so I would recommend removing it before shipping if you don't plan to use it. I don't care either way though. Feel free to ask questions. I can help arrange shipping if needed. I have more pics I can send since only 24 fit on here. Message me if you want to do something early on it. Thanks. MECHANICALThe truck appears to be all original mechanically. I have not tried to start it. The starter was gone when I got it. I haven't got around to finding a starter. I planned to use a different drivetrain anyways, so I didn't care. If you want me to check if the engine turns over, I can. It looks to be the original six cylinder with 4-speed. 2-speed rear. Rolls and steers fine. Everything looks original that I can see. Transmission shifts. Tires hold air. BODYThe body is in nice shape. This truck has the optional stainless on the outside and inside of the windows, and chrome hood latches. The truck is rust free for the most part but it has 2 small spots. The drivers rear cab corner is starting to rust through. It is minor and hard to see. The other cab corner is fine. This truck was painted once along time ago. No bondo cracking or bubbling, which leads me to believe it doesn't have any. Old filler will crack in Montana over time, due to the temperature changes. I've also checked the body over well with a digital paint (and bondo) thickness meter. I couldn't find anything. The other rust spot is the kick panel where it meets the floor pan. The drivers side has a little removeable panel there. The panel may just be gone on that side. I'll have to look at it again. No floorpan rust. The floor has some stress cracks though where the floor support is. This was before the cabs got suspension. No rust in the floor supports or anything else underneath. Doors, fenders, hood, steps, jams, pillars, cowl, firewall, frame, etc. etc. are nice. Doors and hood operate as they should. Back window needs replaced. The others are usable. I have the rear door for the flatbed sides also. Keys are still in the ignition. INTERIORThere is very little interior to speak of. The seat looks original but needs recovered. Gauge area and switches are in decent shape. Headliner is in it. Doorpanels need replaced. I think the doorpanels and headliner were optional also. Pictures tell the story |
