CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
**********PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION************buyer must pick up car by July 25 2020. The RPU was featured in Ol Skool Rodz several years ago. And had a small picture of it on the cover. Car was built in 2006-07, was driven and shown extensively around texas, including the Lonestar Roundup several years. I describe the car to people as a motorcycle with 4 wheels because it has the same feeling of open freedom as a motorcycle does. I will describe what was used and made to create this one of a kind hot rod.Chassis, the chassis was 90% hand fabricated, using a dropped front axle and 1947 ford front brakes, the rear is airbags and 4 link suspension on a Ford banjo rearend with open driveshaft. Steering box is a BMW cowl mounted box, with a modified steering column from a 1957 Buick. Frame mounted dual master cylinder. Car stops well. Engine/Drivetrain, 1957 Buick 364 Nailhead. Rebuilt 100% runs strong, awesome motor. Has the Offenhauser dual carb intake with twin 94s, progressive linkage. Originally difficult to get tuned properly so it didn't run too rich, but was driven many miles with no issues. MSD distributor. The engine is mated to a BOP TH400 trans, so no adapter. A proper fit for an automatic in this car. It was 100% rebuilt as well. Aluminum radiator.Body, has an original model A bed that was shortened. The body was a pickup? or a phaeton? not sure. I wanted to stretch it so I could fit a little more comfortably so the floor, doors and quarter panels were hand made to lengthen the body. The back panel and cowl were kept as original. Windshield is custom, short with the lead devil tails as a detail and mounting point. Simple aluminum fuel tank. Here is the only problem with the car. It currently does not run. And I will tell the story on how that came to be. a few years ago I decided I wanted to build a new body for this chassis, so I disconnected some wiring ad removed the body off the chassis. I didn't finish the body because my father passed away (He and I built cars together) a friend helped put the body back on, and reconnect most all of the wiring and such. a couple of wires for the ignition need reconnected and a new battery installed. (the battery is a DynaBatt, small, compact battery that is actually mounted under the dash.) I have been unable to have the ambition to work on the car and wish to sell it "as is" to someone that will enjoy it. I have 100% percent faith that the engine will run again minus a tune up. This is the full disclosure. It is a fun hot rod that is great for relieving stress on a saturday night.
