This 1966 C10 is offered for sale. It was sold new at Atlanta Motor Co. in Atlanta Texas and was purchased by Bill Farmer of nearby Texarkana, TX. Bill had a garage in Nash, TX (a suburb of Texarkana) and had been in business for years starting in the 50s. He was well known as one of the best mechanics in the area. The C10 still has the original sideboards Bill placed on it for advertisement. In the bed is the tool box he built himself and still has some of his tools in it. He was also friends with, and assisted Gibson “Hoot” Hadaway of the Texas Alcohol and Tobacco Agcy. Hoot later became a Judge and was Justice of the Peace in Bowie, Co. for many years. The C10 is still equipped with Bill’s police scanner and dispatch radio (still tagged as property of Bowie Co., TX). He could go out and help if something needed to be picked up or someone required assistance. When Mr. Farmer passed away, he left the truck to his son. His son kept it for the rest of his life until he passed leaving it to his wife, Sheila. The truck now shows slightly over 62,000 original miles. The original 250 ci motor runs like a top. I recently drove it to church on the highway running 55 MPH and it could not have done better. It drives very straight with no slack in the front end or steering. Here is a list of some of the things I have done to the truck:A full tune up with AC Delco parts-oil and filter, plugs, plug wires, points, condenser and new coil. The truck also has 2 new AC batteries-2 because Mr. Farmer had wired a separate circuit for the scanner, police radio and Air Conditioner.New HD radiator (correct-not aluminum), new heater core, new blower motor and all belts and hoses. The brakes have been done with new master cylinder, new lines and hoses, new wheel cylinders and new shoes all around. The wheels have been painted and are wrapped with brand new tires and topped off with new correct wheel covers. The buyer can choose between white or black-either way, you get new tires. The black wheel have the correct BFG Silverton tires that are over $1000 a set.I have actually replaced very little else on this truck as it was maintained carefully and kept under roof for years. It has one minor spot of rust on the bottom of the left front fender and nothing else. I have pictures with the seat out and the cab is as incredible as the rest of the truck. I invite and encourage anyone to look at it in person. My cell is 903-824-0061 if you have questions.Thank you |
