About this vehicle This 1964 Chevrolet Corvair is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller's Notes Own a piece of American Sports Car History! Chevy’s answer to the Porsche 911. Exterior The last year for this body style, the iconic lines of this 64 Corvair turn heads on the road. Factory correct, a rare combination of top trim level Corvair Monza Spyder coupe, and saddle tan exterior. This was the highest horsepower H6 that Chevy had available, and by this year all the early bugs had been worked out. The rear suspension was redesigned to prevent the axle from folding under during turns. Chevy added a belt guide under the hood to keep the fan belt from jumping off the pulleys. This model was the culmination of improvements on all previous Corvairs. An amazingly straight and complete body with all new badges including Monza Spyder badges on the front fender, and turbo logo on the deck lid. Paint is shiny and smooth. Body has only one area of minor damage, a dent just below the rear bumper, drivers side, as shown in the photos. It appears the paint has prevented any active rust there. There is virtually no other significant rust on the car. Both trunk area and engine bay are RUST FREE. Undercarriage is not spotless, typical for such an old car. But it is very solid. Glass is clear, and both front and rear windshield are spotless. weatherstrip is good, no water leaks whatsoever. Includes a set of 4 SPYDER wheel covers, manuals. and 3 keys. Interior The factory correct tan interior in this car is showroom clean. seats are in amazing shape as seen in the photos. everything is there, including the factory AM radio. (although not working) All gauges function well and are easy to read. Stainless dash is beautiful and straight. glove box works, and locks! dash pad and steering wheel are in amazing original condition. horn works, wipers work, blinkers all work. carpet is in great condition for such an old car. headliner is flawless. both door panels are complete and almost perfect. no excuses on this one! Engine The car runs and drives really well. it’s a lot of fun even with a family of four along for the ride. the motor starts easily, no smoke, and accelerates well while making boost. gears shift smoothly and confidently. Car recently had work on front suspension, and all brakes were refreshed. stops very well. currently registered and insured in N.J. and gets driven regularly. Has a clean, clear, NJ title. I have run out of room in the garage at home. I have other projects and need to clear some space. This is a real time capsule and super clean example of a great historical car! drive the only American rear engine turbo car from the 60’s!
