You are bidding on an early 1953 MGTF. This car has not been driven for over 25 years. It is a numbers matching car with the original engine it came with from the factory (engine tag number and VIN are both pictured). A pole fell off a shelf in the garage where the car was sitting several years ago and bent the windshield frame on the passenger's side as well as made a dent in the right side of the hood, as shown in the pictures. Although there is some very thin surface rust visible on the car here and there, I could find no rust holes anywhere on the body, fenders, fender wells, running boards, or frame, except the tiny little 1/4" hole shown in the very last picture, located right above the rear of the left running board on the body. All the rest of the metal is in excellent condition, even the areas with the mild surface rust. The engine turned over about a year or so ago when I got the car, and I assume it still turns over. The carbs are sitting behind the passenger's seat. The air cleaners are not present, nor is the fuel pump. I would guess that the car was having a fuel problem 25 years ago, at which time a previous owner decided to check it out and never finished the job.The car rolls easily. I believe the original color was gray with red interior and has had 1 repaint over the gray in black. |
