Up for auction is a rare 1979 GMC C15 Sierra Classic. The GMC 1/2 ton trucks seem to be both less common and more desirable than their very readily available C10 siblings. Original shortbed truck has been in the Winston Salem NC area its whole life. Runs and drives excellent with the rebuilt 400 small block engine having no noises or smoke and the heavy duty TH400 transmission shifting smoothly. The previous owner stated that the engine and transmission were just rebuilt and although I have not torn into them to verify; it runs excellent, appears to have all new gaskets and holds excellent oil pressure. Engine has performance upgrades including late model center bolt cylinder heads, Holley aluminum intake manifold and longtube headers into true dual exhaust. Truck also has power steering, power brakes, ice cold air conditioning, cruise control (not hooked up) and other options that make this classic a pleasure to drive. All gauges, lights, wipers, doors, windows, tailgate, etc. operate as they should. This truck hits the road great with the A/C and the upgraded stereo both blasting while you cruise.
