Listing again because bidders wanted additional information and photos (undercarriage and top up). I have tons of additional photos and videos, but am limited to 24 photos on eBay. This is an original "S" code Mustang, meaning it came from factory with a big block, 390 cid, 4bbl engine. 1967 was the first year that big block engines were introduced into the Mustang. This Mustang was manufactured in San Jose, California on November 25, 1966 (while Carol Shelby was still in charge of the GT program in Venice, California) and it was sold new at Cort Fox Ford in Hollywood, California on December 1, 1966 (sale includes original Fox Court license plate frames). This 1967 GT500 Shelby tribute stays true to the one and only 1967 Shelby GT500 convertible ever built. That one was sold at Mecum several years ago for $825,000. This car has the original factory heavy duty C6 automatic transmission, correct heavy duty Ford 9" 3.25 rear end, Raven Black paint w/white rally stripes (the car was originally aqua blue), black bucket seat interior, black power convertible top w/glass rear window & matching boot, power steering, power disc brakes, modern air conditioning, Shelby package w/side scoops, light weight hood, rear extensions & spoiler, sequential tail lights, Shelby wood steering wheel and shifter with cobra insignia. Shelby alloy wheels w/fresh BFG 235 radial T/A's, Rockford Fosgate stereo amplifiers and speakers (no visible holes cut for any speakers), Ididit tilt steering column, RideTech/Fox front and rear suspension, Edelbrock intake and Holley carb. The 390 engine is period correct, including the 14-bolt GT390 heads and exhaust manifolds, but I have no way to assure that this specific block is original. I was told it was original when I purchased it, but there is no real way to assess such. A stamp on the block says "8D12," which to my mind means it was cast on April 12, 1968. The car is documented with a deluxe Marti Report. Show or drive, this is a classic big block convertible that turns heads every where it goes and is a joy to drive. It took 2nd place at Pony's at the Pike in Long Beach last fall! |
