Dodge Dart Phoenix Convertible. I am selling a very rare, highly original, Dodge Dart Phoenix. This is the second year of the Dart, and the Phoenix is the top of the line model. This is a one year only body style, prior to the Dart becoming a compact model. One unique feature of this model is the translucent "see through" speedometer mounted over the dash. This car came from the Memory Lane Museum when they sold all the cars after closing the museum. Prior to that it was last purchased at the Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson auction, where it sold in 2014 for $42,350 (after bidder fees).I would classify the car as a high quality driver. The car has had one re-paint in the original color. The car was not disassembled for the re-paint, so the engine bay, trunk, etc, is still original. I have not found any evidence of body damage or rust. The convertible top is fairly new, and also has a matching parade boot. It has the 318 V8 motor with a pushbutton torqueflite 3 speed transmission. I would call this car a high quality driver, with several modifications made for safety and reliability. The brakes have been upgraded to 4 wheel Wilwood discs, with correct wire spoke wheels. The ignition has also been upgraded to solid state, rather than the original points. Color match, period correct, seat belts have been added as well. The transmission was recently removed and had all seals and gaskets replaced. Most of the major chrome (bumper/bezels, etc.) has been re-plated, and the stainless trim and interior shows very well for an original car. The odometer shows 88,000 miles, which the title shows as original. I also have an original owner's manual, plus showroom promotional material, as well as all service manuals (including year specific supplements). |
