'65 Corvair ConvertibleSelling 1965 Corvair Convertible, professionally "restored." I hesitate to describe this car as "restored" because it was in awfully good shape to begin with. Following +/- $20k restoration however, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better example of a nice Corvair Convertible in the Midwest. Original Kentucky car, this car has never seen salt or other Illinois/rust belt conditions. The car was, obviously, 50+ years old when purchased by my friend on whose behalf I'm selling. Following purchase, car was completely "stripped" and refinished in Black Urethane with gold Stripes...obviously. Interior, much like the exterior was "ok" for 50 year old car but was TOTALLY replaced....new upholstery, carpet, door panels, sill plates, moldings, etc. are ALL NEW. Convertible top and boot are brand new, as well. Keystone Mags and Goodrich T/As are new. Mechanically, car has also been thoroughly "gone through." Brakes, shocks, wheel bearings, steering components all replaced as needed. Engine runs very well...has from purchase time. However, push rod tube seals and other gaskets have been replaced to stop oil leaks, which these Corvairs are prone to. Carburetors, (2) 1 barrel Rochesters have been completely rebuilt, and all tune-up parts are new...cap, wires, plugs, points, etc. Automatic transmission has been serviced and works perfectly. There is literally NOTHING this car needs at this time...except a driver. Car starts and runs REALLY well. Local prospective buyers please feel free to inspect car at R & M Auto Body in Round Lake, Illinois. I apologize for the less than perfect pix of the car and rest assured additional pix of specific items can be provided to SERIOUS prospective bidders/buyers. For any additional info, call Ray, R & M Auto Body at 847 546 4416 or direct questions via email to this add. Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK bidding! |
