I am assisting my brother in selling his 1967 Pontiac Firebird Convertible. We are both getting older and it’s becoming harder to maintain our vintage cars. So It’s time to sell the Firebird to someone who will enjoy it for years to come or possibly take it to the next level. We will try our very best to describe the car as accurately and honestly as possible, to take as much guess work out of purchasing as possible. My brother has owned this Firebird since May of 2007.The car starts, runs, drives and shifts flawlessly and without issue. It has the original 326 V-8 and 2 speed power-glide automatic transmission. In 2011 he had the engine and transmission completely and professionally rebuilt at a cost of $5700.00. During the rebuild, the crank was turned and balanced and a slightly more aggressive cam shaft installed. Also at that time a new HOLLY Carburetor, new radiator, new alternator, new water pump, all hoses, belts, etc, were installed. It still has original points and condenser ignition system. It also has Headers and Flow-Master Exhaust System – sounds awesome. In April 2008 new front and rear springs and shocks were professionally installed by Dias Spring in Erie, PA.This car has been a local summer time driver for many years. In our opinion it can be reliably driven daily with little mechanical expense or repairs. The odometer shows 72,000 miles however, the speedometer works, but the odometer has never worked during his ownership. A used speedometer/odometer is included with the car. As with most 50+ year old cars it does leak a little while parked. The interior was professionally reupholstered about 10 years ago including seats and carpet, door panels are original. The radio is original to the car, but has never worked. The original steering wheel has a crack at the top (see photo). Currently we are unable to get the glove box open, not sure what happened, but it once opened. The paint appears to be lacquer and looks great from 15 ft, but to take this car to the next level, it needs lower body work, a paint job and new rubber seals on doors, trunk, convertible top etc. There are a few areas evident in the lower body that have had repair during the past ownership and is now beginning to show. (see photos). The floors are excellent as are the pinch-welds. The trunk is decent with one area to mention (see photo). The small chrome “gill” pc. on the fender, missing in the photos has been located. The chrome is showing its age and has spots on windshield frame (see photo). The vinyl soft top was on the car when purchased in 2007 and is still in decent condition, with one small ¼ inch flaw (see photo). The soft top has rarely been put up as the car has been parked in the garage most of the time with the top down. The power top lifting mechanism works fine. The tires are about 5 years old and look nearly new and have at least 8 - 9/32 tread. They show nice even wear and absolutely no signs of cracking. This is an indication that not many miles have been put on the car during his ownership. The brakes and steering components have also recently been redone. We do have receipts for most of the above mentioned work. However receipts for interior, brakes / steering / alignment, tires etc. were not located.PAYMENT TERMS:A deposit of $1000 is due within 3 business days of close of auction.
