| 1976 Cadillac Eldorado 2 door convertible. Condition is Used. I hesitantly listed this car for sale in May. In June I decided to keep it and removed the listing. Since then I have bought another antique car, and I have decided to go ahead with the Eldorado sale. 1976 was one of the the last years for the big Cadillac convertibles. This car is front wheel drive with a 500 cubic inch engine, and runs on premium unleaded gasoline. The ride is smooth, and you know you are in a classic luxury car. It is in above average condition and within the last two years has had a lot of mechanical and metal work done. This work includes, but is not limited to, new exhaust, tires, headlights, map light, hood insulation, rebuilt master cylinder and hydro boost, CV boots, brake pads and hoses, front axle, lower dash cover, door panels, carpet (not installed), spark plugs, plug wires, battery, rear tail light lens covers, a new hub cap (refurbished), floor sills, and sun visors. The back seat has been reupholstered in vinyl, and the AC system has been converted/recharged. I had the windshield wiper motor replaced and shortly thereafter the multiple speed wiper switch failed. I have a new motor, in case the one I just had installed burned out, and bought a rebuilt wiper switch (they are no longer made and the rebuilt one cost $280), but neither have been installed. The broken switch will also be included. Additionally, the car comes with new valve covers and gaskets, 2 volume shop manual, coil, good car cover, proper touch up paint (matched and mixed at professional paint shop), upper dash cover (not installed), after market digital clock, and users manual. The radio is mp3 ready with connections in the glove box. It has some minor paint bubbling around the top molding and over one rear wheel well (see picture), and the automatic emergency brake release does not work (it can be released manually with your foot). I have never used the cruise control and do not know if it works. Therefore, I have not listed it as an option. A rear quarter panel, the trough around the trunk lid, and some areas around the wheel wells have been professionally repaired with fabricated metal and repainted. In April I had the car examined and a considerable amount of work done. The servicing tech told me the engine and transmission have been rebuilt. I found a receipt from the prior owner showing this occurred approximately 2,000 miles ago, in 2014. I have driven the care less than 100 miles since getting it back. The receipts will be included with the car. I estimate this Eldorado is 85 to 90 percent restored. It is currently very presentable and a pleasant driver. The chrome is good, and it is a head turner whenever we are out for a drive.While this Cadillac is a beautiful car, and has been dependable, it is sold as is.Thank you for looking. | |
