Selling Running 1958 Triumph TR3A. Needs a little TLC, great candidate for a full restoration. Runs and drives decent, but hasn't been on the road since 1984. Clean interior, seats could be upholstered. They are coming apart at the seams, but no tears. Straight body, engine is very strong, no leaks. No smoke. Includes hardtop as seen in one of the pictures. This car needs time on the open road to get all its parts back in good health. Please read full add for full details and disclosures. The car comes with no warranty expressed or implied. Please feel free to ask questions and I'll try my best to answer them as honestly and straightforward as possible. There is a link at the bottom of the ad for a video if you want to see it running. Buyer is responsible for transportation, free local pickup in Houston, Texas. Asking a fair price for a fair old car.Items I've replaced new:Fuel TankFuel LineFuel PumpFuel FilterTiresStarterLeft CaliperDistributor Cap & RotorRestored RadiatorBatteryBrake Master CylinderClutch Master CylinderCarbs have been cleaned, but not rebuilt.Valve Cover GasketThings it could use:1. New upholstery - Seats are in fair condition, but probably need to be redone. The seams are giving way and opening up. Panels could also use replacing.2. Horn/Signal - It's missing and needs a replacement part.3. Paint - the paint looks decent in the pictures but could need a paint job or restoration4. Muffler - No leaks, but has a muffler that probably needs replacing as it is a little loud for my taste. I haven't taken the car out in 5 years and never saw a need to replace it.5. Left back marker - broke the other day when I was washing it. Original markers were made of glass and didn't survive the fall on the concrete. I have the pieces and will include it with the car for those enthusiasts that like to keep all stock and original parts.6. Breathing elements - I have the old ones, but took them off to clean the carbs.Additional Information:This is a very old car, it runs, but definitely doesn't run like a new car or probably how it did in its hay day. However, it is a good start for a full restoration. It does have a small rust spot under driver floorboard. My suggestion would be to replace both floorboards. It idles well, but often times idles a little high. I'm sure it's because it hasn't ran in so many years. The linkages are a bit rusty. I lubed them all, and the idling has improved, since the parts are able to return to their resting place.Link to video (copy and paste to browser):https://youtu.be/Yr19EUDjIQQ |
