CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
Available for your consideration is my 1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7 "S" code. Running 390 engine and working transmission included and installed. Engine is non-numbers matching, but period correct. Being sold as is. This is a great starting point for anyone seeking a mercury cougar project build. About this vehicle.I purchased this car to build with my wife and father. Then, pandemic-19 came along and drastically changed my circumstances. In sum, this is no longer a project that I can pursue. My hope is that someone will see this car as I did, and restore it properly. It is truly a great project car with unlimited potential. This is an "S"code, which signifies the larger factory 390-4V V-8 engine. All parts/components acquired during my purchase are included with this sale. This includes:· 2 x Grille assemblies· Window trim for front and rear glass· Interior console pieces· 1 x AC compressor· 1 x alternator harness· Seat belts· 6.5 litre badges· XR-7 badges· Rear window glass· Fender extensions· Rear valance· Front valance· Drip rail moldings· Grille filler panel· Many misc. smaller partsPlease see the attached photographs; all of the parts, with the exception of the rear window, are laid out for view. Those familiar with Cougars know that the parts alone are of considerable value. For instance, the two "6.5 Litre" badges alone are worth $500, if you can find them. The factory valances, trim pieces, and console are, likewise, not cheaply acquired. The interior color is "dark ivy gold" - which is a dark evergreen color. My plan was to keep the original interior color, and paint the exterior Augusta Green - which was the dark green offered in 1968. Of course, it's a blank canvas, so my vision certainly doesn't have to be yours. The car is being sold as is/where is and does not include any warranty. I have a clear California Title. If shipping, I will assist/help/coordinate with shipper. Non-refundable deposit of $500 required within 48 hours of end of auction. Sale does not include shipping. Full payment is required (received and cleared) before pickup. I have additional photographs, and will do my best to respond to any/all questions. Thank you for reading and considering my cougar.
