About this vehicleThis 1977 MG MGB is an original. The owner has had it for 4 years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives.Seller's NotesThis is a great car to enjoy. A lot of work is complete so as to be able to drive and enjoy. I drive it every chance I get to have some fun. This isn't a concourse car but is a great driver that can be used at local shows and rally's. It is a head turner and create lots of conversation. You can feel safe to know that the car is rust free because a series of pictures showing the work will be given to the next owner. This car will be at Carlisle Imports Show space IA85 on August 14-16 (unless someone hits the buy it now button and pays). Test drives and inspections can be obtained. The car is titled antique so registration is permanent and doesn't require annual inspection. I may also take trade ins of classic cars especially British and european autos. Check with me by message to discuss prior to bidding as trade ins must be approved by my boss (she is tough though).ExteriorPerformance red re-paint with a few minor blemishes that are difficult to see unless pointed out. Has a beautiful shine and a straight rust free body. The entire shell was stripped and had new sills, floors, rockers, frame supports, cross member, and inner fender supports replaced. All rust has been removed and replaced with new sheet metal. All lights work well and high/low beam switch works as it should. Has a new windshield to body seal and new side window scrapers to keep out the water. The top is a replacement and in good shape (the front snaps have a seam loose on the inside that needs re-sewn but doesn't effect operation). A boot and tonneau cover are included. The chrome is new replacement as well as the locks.The tires have good tread but are old. The wheels need refinishing. The suspension has new bushings and tie rod ends. A front end alignment is due. Brakes are good and have new rear cylinders. The hoses were refreshed a few years ago.InteriorThe interior is in good condition. The gauges all work appropriately although the hazard light stays illuminated all the time (appears some of the aftermarket switches do this) the hazards work fine though. The dash lights have been upgraded to led. The fan and heat controls work well and have been adjusted and lubricated.The dash has a dash cap installed but is hard to notice. The driver's seat has a couple of tear repairs that are ok and the bottom cushion has a slightly different pattern but isn't very noticeable.The new stereo works and is Bluetooth with usb and sd card as well as a radio. Nice hands free operation but also has a remote (haven't used it though)The carpet is serviceable, not much else can be said. It isn't worn our but not new. The trunk is also carpeted.EngineThe engine is a real gem. It runs very well and power has been restored. It sports dual carbs that are adjusted and a proper exhaust that matches. The sound is excellent.The smog items were removed by a prior owner so I don't have them. The engine bay was cleaned up and electrics gone through. There is an aftermarket electric fan installed. The original electric fans are there but need lubricated to use. The radiator is a recent replacement as well as the water pump.Electronic ignition is fitted replacing the points which makes for easier starts and reliability.A valve adjustment has just been performed. The clutch, slave and master cylinder were replaced last year (1k miles ago) and works well.There is an aftermarket electric fuel pump and adjustable fuel regulator with gauge to keep an eye on everything. The fuel filter is new. The motor and transmission mounts are also new.Custom Delivery InstructionsVehicle must be picked up in person or by proxy. All funds must be cleared prior to pick up.
