One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. 1969 was a year of innovation, discovery, and pushing the limits of technology to what was previously thought to be an inconceivable dream. The 1969 Corvette was the pinnacle of American ingenuity and automobile design during this era and the vehicle of choice for the astronauts of Apollo 12. Sitting behind the wheel of this car is truly an out of this world experience, and one I'm deeply going to miss. My research on this Corvette leads me to conclude it has been an Arizona desert car its entire life. The favorable elements and a lot of love along the way have preserved this Vette very well. Lady purchased, owned, and driven until it went into a private collection which is where I found it. The previous owner needed to purchase a new airplane and I was lucky enough to become the third owner. I'm purchasing an H1 Hummer to camp with the family and do not have the garage space for everything which is unfortunately forcing the sale. The exterior of this Corvette has been beautifully refinished in its original 980 Riverside Gold. The Vette has had one repaint and the lacquer shines deep. Check out the reflection and the depth in the photographs. The bumpers show well and the trim is complete and in great condition. Included in this sale is a Corvette leather bumper cover to prevent rock damage on long trips. I would rate the exterior to be a strong 8.5-9/10 condition. Compliments abound on the paint condition and color everytime I drive the car.The interior is Saddle tan and really compliments the Riverside Gold perfectly. The interior is original and meticulously complete down to the tan TTop covers. Chevrolet advertised that the new C3's had a gauge for everything and nearly everything works as intended. The soft green luminescent glow of the gauges are easy on the eyes in evenings. The clock does not seem to be running and the radio will turn on; however, there is no audio. I was told by the previous owner the vintage Pioneer SuperTuner 8 track player which is included in this sale needs to be connected for sound. The original numbers matching 350/300 Turbo Fire is refreshed and mechanically sound. The mileage is 70360 which is original and will continue to go up slightly when I have the opportunity to take it out on cool evenings. The engine is complete down to the original chrome spark plug guide covers. The cooling system has been upgraded to withstand the Arizona heat. I have driven over 500 miles in 110* Phoenix temperatures and the temperature gauge never reads above 180. A new dual exhaust was recently fitted and provides the car with a throaty, but not obnoxious growl at idle and while on the throttle. The vacuum system works great! The wiper cover and headlights raise up and down on demand. The car will come with a fresh oil change for the new owner. There is an oil leak from the passenger side valve cover I have not had time to address which is notable, but not in anyway an urgent repair. The driveline and automatic transmission shifts well with no slipping, unusual noises, or vibrations. The rear differential and axle assemblies appear to have been recently serviced and rebuilt, but I can not confirm the date. As expected, the frame is rust free and is completely solid. The power steering works like a charm and makes steering effortless. Newer power brakes on all four wheels feel like a relatively modern car. The tires are practically new with no wear. This car does not drive how most would imagine a fifty year old car would which is a further reaffirmation to its pedigree and condition.Youtube Video!https://youtu.be/7sg1TpLfelkThis Corvette is loved, well sorted, and ready for a new driver to show and enjoy. This car is not a project and would not take much to be absolutely perfect. Please review the photographs and message me if you have any questions or requests. If you're local and would like to see the car in person, I encourage it and will do my best to accommodate. Please message me for my phone number and I will reach out to you.
