CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
Truck is for sale locally and auction may end early if sold directly.Olive is the definition of a "Survivor" vehicle. Olive has lived her entire life in dry desert climates and she is an excellent example because of that. There is something awesome about preserving a piece of America in a machine that was built by people with pride under the direction of a company badge that is at it's heart an icon of American heritage. Most important (Cliff Notes/TL;DR):This truck has not left me anywhere, has always started and it runs/drives great! She drives smooth and straight. All jams and sills are rust free (bring some magnets and see for yourself); she even has the color matched gas cap and the grill has the original Firestone stamp! Options:- Power steering- Power brakes- 4-wheel drive- 4 speed manual transmission with granny low- V8 FE 360 (5.9L)- Cigarette lighter <- This was an option apparently Previous owner changed: - Clutch - Exhaust - Shocks - Brakes (4x drum) - Bearings - Water pump - Fuel pump - Hoses - New belts - Weather strip - New seat - New carpet - New floor mat - Newer Ford alloy wheels - 31x10.5-15 all terrain tires - Mustang GT Rally gage cluster (tach/clock) Updated by me:- Front axle shafts 2x - Front axle seals 2x - Front springs (2" Superlift leveling) - Starter (high torque) - Starter wires - Starter heat insulation - Valve cover gaskets - New battery - Jets for 5000' ASL - I have an extra MSD module just in case... Things that can use attention (but not urgent):- Front window has a crack- Front right tire has plugs in sidewall. I drove it from St. George UT to Reno NV with no problems. No issues in 4 years.- Steering column rattles, I have new bearings but have not installed. Description:This is one of a scarce population of short bed (SWB) 4x4 F100 Ranger trucks and 1973 was the first year of the dent side.Built in San Jose and purchased new in 1973 at Bradshaw Ford in St. George UT (emblem still on tailgate). There she lived until 2017; previously owned by two parties (as told to me). I purchased it in 2017 (118,822 miles) and drove it from St. George UT through Arizona, to Las Vegas and then finally to Reno and the truck never missed a step; everything functioned flawlessly. Olive has always been adult owned and the responsible attention shows. This truck was always driven and that makes a difference; since it was not left in a field it was not destroyed by rodents. Wiring is clean and easy to follow (no chopped harness for off-road lights and stereos --- original AM/FM radio still works dandy fine). Additionally Olive comes with many original documents and even the original spare tire. Paint is all original with the exception of the hood and roof (previous owner managed a body shop). Anything you can see is light patina and adds to the character. The pictures do not show it well but there is wear on the paint and there are some minor dents as a result of 50 years of use. There is nothing on the body requiring attention, bondo or replacement. Body lines are incredibly straight and doors close with the lightest swing. There are some minor dents and dings (she isn't perfect) that again add character. Pictures of the door jams show that it is very clean and a sign of living a life in dry climates. The window frames (f/r) are also rust free. There are some minor dents and dings that again add character. All work on this truck has been to maintain functionality or tasteful additions that do not take away from originality. I have not been able to find an equally original example on the internet.Olive is fully capable of taking a long trip or get you where you need to go. You should not hesitate to drive this to a destination of your choice; but keep in mind you should expect to be driving at 60 mph... At least I have never gone beyond that.I'm still driving her on occasion to keep her healthy so mileage may change. If you want additional photos, send me a note and I'll do my best to provide them. I have hit Ebay's limit of attached photos.INSPECTION: VERY IMPORTANT. If one chooses to buy sight unseen the buyer accepts the vehicle AS-IS and understands concerns cannot be addressed post sale.
