If you are looking for a nice-driving, completely solid and honest MGB, here it is. This car is a 1978 MGB tourer (or roadster) in British Racing Green with a tan interior. The body is completely free of rust or corrosion and, apart from the front right fender and hood, it wears its original paint from the factory. No traces of rust or rot underneath or in any other place on the car. The passenger's footwell was perforated when we got the car, due to a leaking windshield seal, but we have professionally replaced it with a factory new floor, welded correctly, seam-sealed and painted. The front fender apparently had been repainted at some time in the car's history, probably due to a minor body ding or scrape, and the paint had begun to wear through, and the hood had a ding right in the middle, so we repainted the fender and replaced the hood, painted to match. The color match of the new paint is not great, unfortunately. But it shines well and looks fine if you aren't too fussy. We bought this car with a blown engine, which we replaced with a good running engine from a 1979 MGB that shows about 70,000 miles. It runs and drives well, with a new clutch, rebuilt suspension, new brakes front and rear, new belt and hoses, new exhaust mounts, fresh oil change, new plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, new fuel pump and fuel lines and numerous other new parts. Tires are excellent with good tread and no cracks. The convertible top is new. No rips or tears in the seats or door panels. Spare tire is okay and the jack and original lug wrench are included. The car comes with an owner's manual and a repair manual. The interior could use some detailing, re-gluing of some vinyl and maybe new carpets to look really super but it's presentable now and ready to use. The dash top has cracks, easily fixed with a Cover-It dash top (under $100). All instruments work, as does the radio, lights, wipers, horn, etc.Did I mention the car drives great? The engine starts easily and accelerates well. Brakes stop the car straight and true. When we put this car together, our intention was to make it safe and reliable. We would like the new owner to be happy with the car, and would much prefer not to have to fix it later, so we built it to provide satisfaction.Rogers Motors has been in the British car business for many years. We own and drive MGs and understand how to make them behave well. This is truly a good one, priced below market value. It has a clear title and it currently registered. You can drive this car home, or we'll help load it onto your trailer or truck. We might deliver within the northeast US for expenses. |
