Firestone 205/75 and 235/75 Radials front and rear. Custom rear mounted fuel tank. Custom radiator with fan shroud. Engine & Transmission: Rebuilt Ford 289 C.I.D. V-8 with finned aluminum valve covers and Edelbrock 4Bbl. carburetor. Full length 2 inch exhaust with glass packed mufflers. Ford C-4, 3-speed automatic transmission with column shift Body: Original 1929 Ford Model A commercial cowl with functional ventilating windshield. Custom built, powder coated, tubular steel framed, station wagon body, Steel tube door framework for both front and rear doors. Stainless steel piano hinges and bear claw style latches. The rear seat is easily removable for additional luggage space. The beautiful hand made maple body was crafted by master cabinetmaker Robert Peters. The tinted safety glass with retractable panels in the front and rear doors was installed by Carl DeHart. The sheet metal was finished by Wide Open Customs in Roanoke, Virginia and is a Manila Tan. The fenders, aprons and shields are finished in Seal Brown. The orange pin stripping was applied by the legendary Tom VanNortwick. Chrome plating by Hanlon Plating Co. of Richmond Virginia. Interior & Top: Mercedes Benz Haartz cloth top covering Ford Bronco front bucket and rear bench seats covered in tan leather by Grant's Auto Upholstery in Troutville, Virginia. Electronic VDO gauges and 1953 Ford 50th Anniversary steering wheel Front seat belts. The car has a fully modern electrical system that includes, Halogen headlamps, LED tail lamps, Directional signals, electric windshield wiper and proper fuses. Condition: Beautifully built by the late Larry Rathburn. Larry built show quality, award winning cars that appeared in national magazines including Hot Rod and Rod & Custom. The chassis was set up on his surface plate and was squared and modified to provide proper support for the custom body. Every steel component was stripped to bare steel prior to paint / powder coat.
