CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
Description You are looking at a Vintage 1957 Chevrolet 210 Bel Air 2 door post. It is fairly stock in outside appearance but it has a 327 with dual quads, and a close ratio 4 speed (probable Muncie) with Hurst shifter. The motor was built and it has a fairly wild cam from the feel when hearing it idle and driving the car. The wheels are Cragar SS and tires are BF Goodrich Radial TAs. It was stored for much of it's life with just under 100,000 miles. While the car looks like a Bel Air, the VIN number decodes as a 1957 210 2 door post car when it was born. We suggest that potential buyers decode the trim tag and VIN to draw their own conclusions to originality if it is a concern. The vehicle is in nice cosmetic condition considering the age. It runs and drives but should be considered a project due to age and probable mechanical work needed due to long term storage. It is being sold to settle an estate. Please review all the vehicle details below including the photos, videos and description before placing a bid or clicking on a buy it now. Below is a video collection of the vehicle running and driving: (1957 Bel Air 2 Door Post Video 1 - YouTube) Video will open in a new window [isdntekvideo] (1957 Bel Air 2 Door Post Video 2 - YouTube) Video will open in a new window [isdntekvideo] Please scroll down and enjoy the 200+ photos. If you cannot view all the photos, please click This vehicle was locally owned by the deceased. It is a hopped up 1957 Chevy used for shows and probably some amateur drag racing in it's day. It is a fun 1960's / 1970's era hot rod and stored for years. When we received the car, we placed oil down the cylinders and massaged the engine before cranking for safety. What does it need mechanically? We suggest an oil and filter change, major tune up, carb rebuilds or at least carb tuning, having the gas drained, etc. We would also recommend having brakes checked, a thermostat, radiator flush, differential oil changes, and probably other maintenance and reconditioning from age and long term storage. It does run and drive surprisingly well considering what it should have done. As you can see, the paint is straight and in great shape. It was repainted year ago and holding up well. It does have some marks from age. The interior, aside from some imperfections, a headliner with several mouse holes from years ago and a mouse smell at times, is not bad considering the age. We suggest steam cleaning the interior. We drove it down the road as shown and it ran well. It has good oil pressure, and you can tell it has a pretty wild cam. Also, the gauges work well, and the interior and exterior lights work. The brakes do stop the car but they are manual drum brakes and should be checked and probably upgraded as they are old. The vehicle is is in great shape for the age from a rust perspective as well. Usually the frame, floor and rear pan are shot and this one is in great shape or at least far better than others. We do not know how much filler was used when bodywork was done years ago. This vehicle was previously titled in Indiana in the past, now is a Wisconsin title that is free and clear. We are a local auction house in Waukesha, Wisconsin and the vehicle is in our heated warehouse. What a great example of an old school 1957 Bel Air / 210. We are selling this vehicle at a reasonable buy it now or best offer.
