Windshield leaks slightly around the rubber seal if driving in hard rain, but rarely driven in inclement weather. This little gem must be driven - do not allow it sit for long periods of time. Classic cars, like our bodies, are machines. They require exercise, maintenance and fuel along with a lifetime supply of TLC to keep them running. Long periods of non-usage means things will start to break down – which is exactly why the fuel pump had to be replaced – lack of firing it up! Plus, these delightful cars are fun to drive and make you feel young again! You will be amazed at the comments you receive and almost no one can guess the make and model. “Is that a Studebaker”? This particular Moggy did not originate in the northeast – no exposure to salted roads. It was purchased by the current owner from Classic Cars of Sarasota. This is a popular and prolific British compact car, and the Morris Minor Tourer was designed to be an affordable, convenient choice for the British working class. The Moggy and the “Beetle” were launched around the same time, over 75 years ago, however, both enjoy cult followings. The Moggy has a simpler mechanical design and a conventional boot, which is more commodious than the front compartment of the VW and is the easiest to maintain. The Germans simply outpaced the British with their marketing prowess after WWII. Easy to work on and parts are cheap. Used parts are plentiful, both is the US and Britain. This Morris Minor is insured by Hagerty’ and has not been involved in any accidents or received any damages. This 1958 Moggy (christened “Blue-Jay”) has been kept covered in a garage. It has a wonderful feeling of heritage and will surely capture your heart! REASON FOR SELLING: Owner is to retire. All questions welcome! |
