| About this vehicleThis 1957 Chevrolet Corvette is a modified vehicle. The owner has had it for 5+ years. Over 1000 views during last listing, so there must be a serious buyer among those looking. For those that remember this is a Herb Adams (previous GM engineer responsible for some of Pontiac's hot Super Duty offerings) design featuring an all aluminum monocoque (integrated frame/body construction) . Herb subsequently became chief engineer for SLP in Troy Michigan where the car was constructed. Masterworks Automotive in Madison Heights MI subsequently completed the resto-mod restoration using all correct interior and exterior OEM parts which were either replaced as new or replated. This included finding an original 1957 air box (RPO Option 579e) mechanical tachometer. Vehicle features Adam's engineered independent front and rear suspension. Front power rack and pinion, rear Dana 44. Aluminum radiator with dual fans, motor SLP 383" stroker motor, Callies crank, roller cam and unique SLP Firehawk Fuel injection. Power is transferred to rear through a Corvette ZF speed transmission. Baer disc brakes at all four wheels sporting original ZR rims. Front P275/40ZR1 Rear P315/35ZR1 Newly installed, corner-balanced Ridetech coil over shocks. 15 gallon Altek fuel cell. Radio and heater delete. Hardtop only. Project was started with an original 1957 Corvette, rescued from an estate sale. Torch red with complimentary silver coves.
