| Offered is a 1978 VW "Super Beetle" convertible. This VW is powered by a 1974 1600 cc carburetor motor. It was last plated in 1998, and sat in dry storage until fall 2018. The original fuel injected motor was replaced by the previous owner. All the cosmetics were done over 22 years ago. I will list what I have repaired or replaced since I purchased the VW.Motor: new "jugs", pistons, rings. valves ground, adjustable pushrod tubes, new seals, new cooling tin, new fuel pump, carburetor, alternator, gas tank, fuel line. Distributor tuned up, plugs, plug wires, fan belt. New muffler and tailpipesBody: new floor pans, front seats, front seat covers, interior door panels, rear seat panels, new carpet.Chassis: new McPherson strut cartridges, rear shocks, brake shoes, all brake lines, brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, brake hardware (springs), tie rod ends. Misc: 4 new Radial tires, electric windshield washer pump. This "bug" is a "turn key" driver. You can just get and drive. Drives nicely, look great! The paint has held up well, some small dings and cracks. The top is very nice. The older Beetles have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity. Everywhere I drive this car, I get complements. | |
