1966 Chevrolet El Camino complete project. Classic/Collectible-Fun to drive as a hot rod, rat rod, low rider or classic cruiser! Been collecting and stashing new parts for this El Camino for almost 3 years. At last count, over $11,000+ in it, not counting my labor. Moving must sell! I started a full body off restoration started on this car. Body was removed and put on a rotisserie. The frame was completely cleaned and then paint in gloss implement black. After the frame restoration the body was put back on the frame, but is only temporarily secured. All new body bushings and bolts come with it. Underside of body needs prepped and undercoated and it is ready to bolt down permanently to the frame. Drum brakes in front were replaced with all new disc brake conversion. Also have all new suspension components for front end (upper/lower ball joints, etc.). Originally had a manual steering box and removed it when frame was restored. Will need to buy and install a rebuilt Saginaw power steering box. Steering not connected, but has the original wheel/column in car. The cab floor and the bed floor are usually the most vulnerable to cancer rust. The floor pans and bed floor are in very good condition. All the original glass all appears good including front windshield. This an Idaho car (Dry, arid high desert climate-Ideal for classic car preservation). Very little rust on this car. The passenger rear quarter behind the wheel is rusted out and have new patch panel for it. Some rust showing on front passenger quarter behind wheel, but minor and easily repaired. Body lines line up well. Passenger front fender not fully bolted. Lots of body work already done. Filled in all trim holes on driver’s side and all but door on passenger side. Body panels are straight. They did not make a 66 El Camino SS, but I have a 66 Chevelle SS hood for it (no SS hood trim pieces, but available online). The hood is rough (bondo), but repairable. Has bucket seats and at some point, it had a 4 speed in it. See pedals and hole in hump. Nice looking instrument panel. I’m told that a 66 Chevelle SS instrument panel bolts in and gives you all the gauges including tach. There are tons of new parts included with this car. Brand new in box power brake booster. Brand new 2.5” dual stainless exhaust including stainless mufflers. New door panels, new carpet kit. Bolt kits, body mounting kit. Also have all the original stainless steel molding that was removed from the car. Has the headlight trim and new grille. Only have one bumper and believe it is the front one. Rear one missing. Bought a good running 350 Chevy V8 that came out of a 1968 Camaro. Had a carb fire and burned the carb, intake and distributor, but bought a nice Holley double pumper carb, an Edelbrock Victor Jr aluminum intake and new distributor for it. Also comes with a an extra (good).010/.010 4 bolt main bare block and extra crankshaft. New four core radiator included. Too much new stuff to list. Also bought a good used Saginaw 4 speed and had the flywheel (machined) and pressure plate for it. No shifter or linkage for Saginaw. No shocks attached in rear, so low rider. Both the front had rear suspension have been lowered slightly. Dropped spindles in front and shorter coils in rear. Believe its lowered about 1” front and rear. Comes with good quality Weld Racing aluminum modular wheels or replace with Torque Thrust D vintage mags or Legend mags from Summit for about $425?? Tires were great, but now weather checked and the passenger rear is bad from sitting flat. Will put a tire on, so it is a roller. I have (30) pictures of extras that the 24-photo limit does not allow me to post, but can provide. Have pics of all the new parts and pics of the engine, block, transmission, Old School high performance double hump 2:02 heads, etc. Tried to show the body and floor pan clearly. In Australia, these are called a ‘UTE’, as a utility vehicle. The convenience of a pickup, but the ride and interior of a 1966 Chevelle A Body car. Super practical and cool. NADA guides show the Base Price (no options-std 6 cyl. engine) at $12,650 for low retail, $24,100 for average retail (decent looking driver) and $34,900 for restored one. This had the potential to be a really cool custom low rider. It could be the 66 El Camino SS the factory never built. It has "GOOD BONES" and a trailer full of new parts to go with it. Somebody is going to steal this hot rod, rat rod or classic collectible for almost $4,000 below what I have in it. Best to pick this El Camino up with a 24’ enclosed car trailer. To many new parts for an auto transport to accept. Hopefully, we will find a Pacific NW buyer. El Camino is in zip code 83651 in Nampa, Idaho, near Boise. Will help load. Do a search on Auto Trader Classics to see (30) 1966 El Caminos for sale for comparison. Most of the good drivers are $25,000-$35,000. This could be a profitable project, if you do the work yourself.Thought we had it sold last week at $7,950 Buy It Now Price on eBay last week, but the buyer flaked out due to distance/cost. Dropped the price by $1,000 for this auction. Must sell soon. Moving! If you have any questions about condition or additional parts reach me at 208-345-1400 Kurt. Thanks for looking. |
