The frame was sandblasted and refinished. All brake and fuel lines were replaced with stainless steel. Full length Keystone stainless steel exhaust system. The brakes were rebuilt with rebuilt calipers and new wheel cylinders and new friction material. The fuel tank was cleaned and painted. Koni shock absorbers, front and rear. Andy Granatelli set 29 speed records at Bonneville in 1963, with speeds exceeding 168 MPH in a twin blown Avanti. This made the Avanti the fastest production car in the world that year. Among the famous owners of these cars is Ian Flemming (creator of James Bond) and singer/songwriter/actor Ricky Nelson. The original and unique round headlight design was a feature of only the 1963 first year models. All subsequent production had square headlights.
