CAR DESCRIPTION FROM SELLER
Vehicle Description After 10 years of 4x4 dominance, the Bronco was all-new in 1978: bigger, more powerful, more versatile, yet still rugged and ready to play. This incredibly slick 1978 Ford Bronco XLT 4x4 features a great color combination, a potent 460 big block V8 drivetrain, and a host of choice options highlighted by a comfortable A/C interior. Most importantly, this full-size Bronc is capable of going through just about any obstacle that dares to get in its way, but thanks to its civilized road manners, it's a great choice for any driver. Take a closer look but do so quickly because slick Broncos like this never last long. The 2nd generation Bronco might be one of the most familiar shapes in the 4x4 world, and it was a big step forward after a decade of the Early Bronco body. Obviously based on the F-series pickups, it has a clean, chiseled look that's only enhanced by the PEARL WHITE paint and although it wasn't a perfect $25k respray, it was done right by professionals and a truck like this needs no apologies - it's in just the right high-end, driver grade condition that you won't think twice about going out and having some fun, but it's also nice enough to show off with pride. It has a great luster and shine and a proper cut and buff might even take it up a level, but then you might be afraid to use it as intended. The Pearl white certainly makes the truck look sinister, but the way it is offset by bright chrome really rounds-out the look. And speaking of bright trim, there's plenty of it, including that iconic grille up front, the XLT trim molding down the profiles and out back, and the heavy-duty bumpers fore and aft that all work together to offset the slick paint perfectly. Big mirrors, a restored lift-off hardtop, step bars at each side, and twin tailpipes out back all help with the heavy-duty truck look as well as functionality. Man, this Big Bronc is sweet! The comfy blue interior offers low-back buckets with inserts for front seat occupants, a matching rear bench, and lots of great looking materials throughout that transform the Bronco's personality from off-road brawler to Main Street cruiser. The fresh-looking upholstery adds an upscale look and even the center console looks great, matching the great shape of the door panels, headliner above, and fresh carpet below, all working together to make everything look uniform. The dash should look familiar to anyone who has driven a '70s F-series truck, with Ranger XLT woodgrain. All the factory gauges are still in place, a later Bluetooth time era AM/FM/CD stereo was neatly installed into the center of the dash, and the 3-spoke ford steering wheel adds a sporty feel to the cabin. Most importantly, this is an A/C Bronco, pumping cold R134a air throughout the cabin, whether the top is on or off. There's also a monstrous cargo bay behind the rear seat with same fresh carpets found in the cab, neatly finished but still able to carry an impressive amount of gear. This is a great weekend getaway vehicle. When the Bronco got bigger, so did the engines, with this one using a very powerful 460 V8 that adds big power and torque to this '78. It's got a few upgrades such as an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor, fresh ignition and plug wires, and long-tube headers, so it's plenty strong to pull the big Bronco around with enthusiasm. The engine itself is bright Ford Blue dressed up with M/T valve covers and a Holley air cleaner up top, and it really stands out in the otherwise blacked-out engine bay. There's a big radiator up front for slow going and both power steering and power front disc brakes were part of the package in this newer, bigger Bronco. It still uses rigid axles at both ends, which is still the best way to go for serious off-roading, and the gearing works in the mud as well as on the highway. A custom dual exhaust system tucks in tight so ground clearance is unaffected and it sounds great. Slick alloy wheels match the paint scheme and carry big 33x12.50-15 Mud that fill the fenders properly. With first-generation Bronco values soaring, the second-gen trucks like this aren't far behind. A great look, lots of room, and a smooth powertrain make this Bronco a winner. Call today! at Plus One 3..>>>27.
